Got my 30'th Star ... Good on you STEVE, keep going zombie is looking over his shoulder. I was all set to do a list update last week and recorded all the numbers where both yourself and mikey had not reached your new Star levels. Now because I was a bit lazy and haven't done the list yet I now have to go through it again to do an update, teach me for being slow. Anyway good work Conan ____________

Got my 30'th Star ... So you going for a purple/lt green/pink/blu/dark green/red or 'rainbow' array? Looks like you can still do it but the 5th ring got a dk green star and now you have to raise a bunch of reds up. And the 6th ring has to all become red. Bit of managing.

Got my 30'th Star ... I've never really paid much attention to the array of stars, I just keep moving up what I can move up when I can ... ____________ https://signature.statseb.fr/sig-1323.png https://stats.free-dc.org/badgesbanner.php?cpid=13a87c3a303bcdca4ba0ed600daebb6b

Just a small one, but just upgraded my second star to Silver overnight! I’ve done a fair bit of crunching (pales in comparison to others though!!), but tend to focus on fewer apps - I’ve got a WCG one up at 70,000 hours and a PG app turned emerald this week… Next goal will be nudging a few over the 100 hours mark to get that third star!

You haven't done any of the Gerasim Get Decic Fields tasks yet either, they have cpu, Nvidia, AMD and Linux tasks all ready to send out. https://gerasim.boinc.ru/

The first stars are the most difficult to get. And after a while you make tables to follow your apps and the quantities/hours you need to modify the colors of your stars ^^

I do too!! I use a spreadsheet and input the hours, manually, everyday as I crunch for the different apps. For me it helps me manage the total hours I'm putting towards an app and let's me know how soon I will reach the next milestone in it.

Yeah, other spreadsheet ppl! I can't keep it in my head anymore, too many apps I want to upgrade and too many pc's that won't run some Projects means me having to juggle things to try and optimize my crunching. I don't worry as much about credits right now just I'm working on upgrading my apps to the next level while also trying to keep my GridCoin magnitude as high as I can.

So, my solution to this is a 4 core VM and I'll assign it a particular project WU to try and complete (Primegrid has an entire solar system of work preferences). The main OS will work on GRC priorities and give up resources as the VM's get WU's for WUProp. My new VM is about ready (disabling unnecessary task schedule jobs). Tiny WinX (Twitter user NTDev) that uses 350MB RAM at start on 2GB RAM. Learning Windows Toolkit and NTLite to strip down my next Windows OS DISM, for the servers, with every CPU hungering, unnecessary service off, including DWM (successfully can be shut off in Win 10, not tried Win 11). Need to pick a low resource WSL Linux for this. All the other Lite ISO's around are trying to please too many users and aren't focused on the BOINC user who wants max CPU and RAM available. (I'm being so chatty, but no one else in my life even understands what I'm doing. "Your computers heat your house? (strange look.)", "What's BOINC?")

[quote] I can relate ... So yes my A/C electric bill is higher than most... "You adjust your PC's to run less during the "heat of the day" (2pm - 4pm) ?? At least with SETI gone I don't have to put up with searching for little green men jokes anymore.
