Yes, they are two different apps for two similar but different models:

    Weather At Home 2 (wah2)
Weather At Home 2 (wah2) (region independent)

The (Win) app versions are also different:

    Weather At Home 2 (wah2) (region independent) v8.12 windows_intelx86
    Weather At Home 2 (wah2) v8.24 windows_intelx86

Looks like I've accumulated ~3500h for the latter & it ended up on the former app, for which I've 9,923h & was expecting to reach 10Kh!

I have three of the old tasks just sat there as they do. They are some months old.

I downloaded 5 more today and I noticed that all 8 tasks are now labelled as region independent.

This is not a new application, only the new version of the same application
So do not expect a new star ;o)

Native mt app for Linux, not for VBox

You must install and configure a few additional packages
(CVMFS, SQUID if you have no proxy)
Otherwise you simply will kill all of the available test tasks
That does not benefit the project in the application testing process

Usually there a difference in the CPU & GPU Applications because they are run by a different class of Hardware.

Albert@Home Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo)
Albert@Home Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, GPU)
Einstein@Home Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo)
Einstein@Home Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, GPU)
Einstein@Home Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1
Einstein@Home Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 on GPUs

Thanks for the Info though, I can shut down my GPU's then ...

It all depends on the administrator of the project.
Albert & Einstein registered separate applications that run each with its own data.

Amicable (and SETI) have added a new version of an existing application to work with the same data

PrimeGrid also does not distinguish between CPU/GPU. All the GFN, AP and PPS Sieve run on both. Only one app shows here.

Sorry, I was not being clear. My BUMP was about the new climate prediction app. It still is not showing up.

Weather At Home 2 (wah2)

Weather At Home 2 (wah2) (region independent) <--- This one is missing

They are two different applications. You can see here:

What distinguishes an "application" from a "version"?

Sofar, it only seems if a project lists an application separately which seems kind of hazy in defining it...
