1) Message boards : Number crunching : ARM AArch64 app? (Message 7074)
Posted 4 hours ago by Profile Moises Cardona
Can the project add an AArch64 app for ARMv8 CPU's?

There doesn't seem to be support for it and the project gives the following:

Message from server: This project doesn't support computers of type aarch64-unknown-linux-gnu

I'm still waiting for it... Amazon has not yet shipped Ryzen CPUs and AM4 motherboards to a lot of people. Hopefully I can get it on this week.

There are two additional non-cpu intensive projects with three applications overall you might add to count hours:
GoofyxGrid@Home
Gridcoin Finance

And with/without sensor you can additionally add:
Radioactive@Home

By the way: you have a lot of cores (52) and gpus (6) compared to myself (16+2). Let your computers run and you'll get your starts as time wents on. For your gpus you may also run GPUGRID, for cpu Albert, SRBase and Einstein have all multiple applications.

Didn't knew Gridcoin Finance was NCI. I added it to 3 64-bit machines :)

Reading this thread reminded me how little CPU horsepower I have compared to the "big guys"! :-(

Still, joined 1 week ago, got first little puny star in 7 days someodd hours. Will eventually get a second star thanks to Primegrid (third star WAY out there, I only run 20 projects, so just over 40 apps showing up) but that first star is going to take a while to change colors anyway.

Project is VERY useful for keeping track of what my hosts are doing - I love it! I just have to keep myself on track working on my original goals, which are world-position within chosen projects, and not get off topic and start badge-chasing! :-/ Addictive!

Bill,

You should consider running the NCI projects. You have some OSX machines so if any of them are MacBooks you can run all 8 Quake Catcher projects plus the 2 goofyxgrid apps (on Win). After a month they might well be your big earners, hours wise. Note that some of the QCN projects don't award credits but that doesn't matter here.

Three years in and all 8 QCN projects are > 30,000 hrs for me. I dont pay much attention to them and sometimes I dont even run them.

Have fun!

Steve

To be fair, you can run all 8 QCN projects even without the sensors or accelerometers. The apps won't do anything but will still give the app hours...

Hi, can you list the 8 QCN projects please? I'm interested in running them too

Yup, confirmed working here too. Thanks!

Interestingly, there seems to be 3 flavors of the Linux for ARM app. Could it be the Raspberry Pi is picking up the incorrect app? I can check this if I could know how to make the app_info file to force it to use a specific app?

I'm having the same signal 11 error in my Pi, but I have the Pi 1 not the 2 running Raspbian (latest version available). BU runs fine without the need for extra libraries in that distro so I don't think that could be the issue. I'm running BU and Enigma@Home without issues in it. the only issue is WUProp which immediately gets a Computational Error ad when reported it says Signal 11... I'm using 7.4.23 which is the package available in the repository.
