Multiple Simultaneous WU's
(Message 6839)
Posted 7 Sep 2019 by ![]() Maybe someone answered this before, but why is it this project won't send out more than 1 WU at a time? You would think we could crunch a ton of WU's, since it's not CPU-intensive. Anyone know why-? :) |

Quchempedia invitation code ?
(Message 6824)
Posted 26 Aug 2019 by ![]() Just tried to sign on to QuChem, no luck, no forum yet for them as of 26 August 1635 EDT. No invite code either. One of their guys said on another forum that they were indeed having some issues with results, and perhaps with not having enough RAM for certain tasks. Guess we'll just have to sit and wait on them... |

What data collects this project?
(Message 734)
Posted 16 Nov 2012 by ![]() It's difficult to read the results on our page. Some seem to be counter-intuitive, or not in keeping with fact. For example... on http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/delai.py ... On the Report Limit Page: why negative numbers for report deadline minimums? And the graphs are but a few dots, seemingly collected at specific times... I don't get it... On the Upload/Download Page: nothing downloaded, ever? You have to be getting -something- to upload... How often does the RAM Requirement change, and do we collect info on what seems to be pretty much static data? Same with Disk Space Required... Computation Time looks pretty well blank, even after input of data for type of computer, etc... What is a checkpointing interval? Some kind of point where the WU stops and examines things? And why does that matter? (I'm sure it does, just dunno why) Credit Per Day Per Core is in the 10s of millions for some projects? Wild West, o great collector of stats... perhaps you could publish a copy of the page at one point in time with instructions for us to read? Thx, cesium... |

Computer theft solved thanks to BOINC
(Message 709)
Posted 10 Jul 2012 by ![]() This almost qualifies for dumb crook news. You just can't tell, though, if a computer has a trace-capable prog on it; most don't. In any case, he was one unlucky thief. He should be caned... :p |

Posted 20 Jan 2012 by ![]() Good Day, all... I'm John, from North Carolina, USA. Non-CPU-intensive work units are right down my alley. Let's get some info on BOINC and share it with the greater community here... :) |
