PrimeGrid has announce their new LLR 3.8.20 that is now live and supports multi-threading. This is LLR tasks only, Sieve and GFN are still single core.

You need to either use an app_config (preferred) or app_info to enable the multi-threading. I suspect this will cut your hours down if running one multi-thread over single cores, but it is now a choice you can use.

PrimeGrid also does not distinguish between CPU/GPU. All the GFN, AP and PPS Sieve run on both. Only one app shows here.

The last Windows update put out a bad driver. You need to get the official one from NVidia if that is what happened. Happened to me on all my machines.

Curious as to what that Private GfN server is... 46000 in progress... Thanks for the links.

GFN is part of PrimeGrid. It's a project that you have to privately sign up for, and they only take users who have some history. It is checking very small GFNs (under 15 which is PrimeGrid's smallest GFN factor).

Sometimes projects sit idle on a computer being shut down because of many reasons (heat of summer, fault hardware, etc), then a project is crunched when it comes back up and time is counted. You cannot fault the administrator of this site for something like this happening.

Third star turned gold. Being a person who doesn't bounce projects much anymore, I work on more or less a single project, since they added a bunch of new apps, I had been able to build to a 3rd star and currently have it at gold. It will eventually make Ruby, but probably not go much further than that in any short future.

Primegrid added more by reusing the colors, but changing the badge. First badge is just square, next set is a flag.

That could easily be done here, start over on the colors but make the stars a different shape, maybe circle or triangle or ??

Did your Windows 10 update? I hear there are some problems with the last update. I am seeing this on other forums. It's mostly machines with NVidia cards and you may need to reinstall or update you NVidia driver to fix.

First start turned green. I am not much of a bouncer, but I should get a 3rd star sometime in the future for the additional subprojects on the one project I have yet to start.

It looks like there are still validate errors, but they are fixing them every so often.

It is the physical WU internal name that is being used. For example, Primegrid uses the same application for many of their projects, but the WUs are each different. What is being counted is the type of WU, not the physical application.

Primegrid uses multiple applications also, like Genfer has CPU, OLC2, OLC3, OLC4, OLC5, CUDA, and maybe others. This are not counted separately. Now most of those have been combined into a single application, but previously they were separate.

As stated before there are some projects that test before going live. The project was stressed on the hardware it was on and needed upgrading. The admins took it down with kind of a promise that it would return soon. Well then it went MIA. Even the URL went away.

I suspect they finally got some hardware and are background testing the programs on newer BOINC version before it is release back out in the wild. At least that can be a hope.

Looking at the results, only 1 has ever been reported. It could be a new project someone is working on, or could be someone decided to install the framework and do a test on their own system(s), which anyone can do.

Double amethyst

I am unsure if I will get a 3rd badge next, or move the first badge up. Most likely the first badge up because I dedicate myself to projects and do not run around to new ones much.

Love it that the numbers are now all normal and that you added the star color column. That is real icing on this cake. Now we can see the numbers that were sometimes very hard with certain colors.
16) Message boards : Number crunching : Getting errors with non-pie app on android 5 (Message 2823)

Now I am getting PIE application on my Android 4 and they are causing errors. It looks like the hours are not counted. I did get what looks like manual credit for the finish of the unit, which is something, but loosing the hours I am working hard on gaining is a bit upsetting.

Moved my second star to Blue (5K+). Unsure I will ever get a 3rd star as I am more of a project loyalist instead of a jumper.I would probably get the first star further than adding more stars.
18) Message boards : Number crunching : New Badge Proposal (Message 2790)
Posted 19 Mar 2015 by Profile Pooh Bear 27
I agree with Coleslaw and others. This project has an agenda and that is to measure every other projects elapse times across the board. The badges here support that. It's easy enough to get a badge if you participate in multiple applications (several can be from the same project). The hours are already signified on the badges. Having an extra badge for hours seems silly to me.

Some projects have no badges. Most projects have 1 type of badge for that project. There are a few that do multiple badges but they are done that way for more specific reasons. I say leave well enough alone. The only thing I'd like to see is adding a second start for people with over the 100 project point. I know there are a few people who could have 7 or 8 stars (or more). That would be a better use of badges than anything else that has been proposed.

The ARM App needs updating. It was still showing Pending, but does not show the last 24 hours.
20) Message boards : Number crunching : Project problems / lack of replies to (Message 2752)

I am missing the pending also. It was a good way to quickly evaluate what was going on. A last 24 hour would work just as well. Since many of us have several machines with CPU, GPU, ARM, etc projects running, a single place to give a little feedback went a long way.
