Post: PRIVATE GFN SERVER - GFN-1x Small Primes (gfn1x_small) 1x Small Prime is sort of an umbrella to search for primes smaller than those offered by PrimeGrid (GFN-15 & up). Currently searching GFN-12. That's my understanding anyway... |

Post: Looks like it was combined today. I have hours for SiDock@home and sidocktest but no longer sidock. Today's hours were higher than I can produce in a day too. Agreed. It only made sense. But ARRRRRG! For a minute there I had an 11th star that. alas, has now disappeared. Those who have been around awhile may remember the now defunct FubarHal errr FreeHal project. I had just hit 1 million combined credits (a decade or so ago when that actually meant something) and one of the project's litany of errors reared it's ugly head causing me to drop back below that coveted threshold. I was quite disappointed until a wise teammate pointed out that not many people get a chance to get their first million twice!! |

Post: Be careful when you say all or KPX will think you are speaking for him! LOL! Yes, we all (well most of us) love to get the stars. Myself, I generally only crunch projects that grant badges unless my team is involved in a challenge. If I have a project goal that will also help towards an improved star here so much the better. The original intention of this project was to encourage crunching across the board regardless of credit granted and has done an amazing job achieving this goal. The statistics shown under the results tab are an immense help to me when deciding whether my very limited hardware is up to the task for certain apps. For this reason, I wish every BOINC user would run this project and contribute to what would be a greatly enhanced database for all. Damn, there's that word again. BTW: Couldn't agree more with skgiven whereas it would have been nice had the merger occurred much sooner. In sebastien's defense however, nobody knew how everything would shake out at GCC. Better to get it right later than never. |

Post: As one that has lost a couple of what few stars I have, I completely agree with the app mergers. We all know that the apps are the same regardless of project name changes, mergers, etc., and a true representation of our contribution is what should be sought. Otherwise, an "ingenious" project admin will eventually come along and change app names regularly so as to attract crunchers and make a mockery of the entire system. None of us want this. |

Post: Im getting errors with the Monkeys v3 (NCI) - Generator/Word seed v3.00 i686-pc-linux-gnu app on one of my x64 Linux systems. Basically the Intel x86-compatible CPU app version doesn't work that 'AMD' X64 CPU (under Ubuntu). So Word seed 2.00 works for me but not 3.00, on that rig. Same for me. I thought it was because I had a recent hard drive failure and am running that box on a live USB for now. |

Post: version 3 is acting as a true nci on my boxes. version 1 seems to be the problem. I have deselected v1 and all seems to be fine. I will deselect v2 and v4 now before they start so as not to receive any unexpected surprises. Edit: Now v3 is acting up. Suspended on all boxes. |
