1) Message boards : Number crunching : WUProp Have A New Project URL? 's' added to http. (Message 4773)
Posted 5 Mar 2017 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
BOINC informed me about a new notice.

I looked to the messages and found:

WUProp@Home 05.03.17 | 13:29:56 This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/
[UTC +01:00]

Is this correct - or a mistake?

How long the old URL without 's' after http will still work?

Thanks.
2) Message boards : Number crunching : validate errors ? (Message 4063)
Posted 25 Jul 2016 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
Both PCs of me get now validate errors... - why?

Invalid tasks for computer 79951
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results.php?hostid=79951&offset=0&show_names=0&state=5&appid=

Invalid tasks for computer 85407
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results.php?hostid=85407&offset=0&show_names=0&state=5&appid=

I see wingmen with download or computation errors and also invalids...

A few examples:
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/workunit.php?wuid=59457923
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/workunit.php?wuid=59466475
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/workunit.php?wuid=59134050
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/workunit.php?wuid=59565283

Now just 1 day deadline? (Before it was 10 days.)

Is there something broken?

Thanks.
3) Message boards : Number crunching : WUProp and AMD CPUs? (Message 3146)
Posted 26 Jul 2015 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
A friend would like to let run WUProp WUs in his BOINC.

He tested it - the CPU temp increased and later the PC was frozen.

It's a known problem that WUProp don't run on AMD CPUs?

What could be the problem that the WU don't run?

Thanks.
4) Message boards : Number crunching : Intel® iGPU app detection? (Message 2751)
Posted 17 Mar 2015 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
I hope the WUProp@Home app detect Intel® iGPU apps/WUs.
Now I get (like mentioned above):
<stderr_txt>
No NVIDIA library found
No ATI library found.

In past - IIRC - with the other PC, with GTX285 I didn't got something like:
<stderr_txt>
No Intel(R) library found
No ATI library found.

In the Intel_driver_Installation_Readme_(64-bit).txt which you get with the Lunatics Installer (optimized project applications for SETI@home):

Microsoft Windows 7 64
Microsoft Windows 8 64
Microsoft Windows 8.1 64
[I use the x64 Installer because x64 OS, but I guess x86 OSs too]

5) Message boards : Number crunching : Intel® iGPU app detection? (Message 2742)
Posted 16 Mar 2015 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
The iGPU of the J1900 (Quad-Core CPU) have 2 compute units.

I crunch very well SETI@home v7 and AstroPulse v7 (both OpenCL apps) projects tasks on it.

The performance is like a 5th CPU-thread.

Does the WUProp@Home app detect the apps/project tasks which crunch on it?

BTW. There are very much Intel® iGPU's at the SETI@home project ...
If the currently WUProp@Home app don't detect ... - if in future yes, I wouldn't be the only one who would 'benefit' from it.

Maybe there are more BOINC projects with Intel® iGPU OpenCL project apps?

Thanks.
6) Message boards : Number crunching : Bug in Data collect version 4 v4.18 (nci) causing "output file absent"? (Message 2719)

The Win app got an update from v4.15 to v4.18.

Someone know why, what's new?

Thanks.

I have an: Intel® Celeron® CPU J1900 + Intel® HD Graphics [iGPU]
With: Win8.1 x64

<stderr_txt>
No NVIDIA library found
No ATI library found.

Does this mean the WUProp app detect the Intel® iGPU and all the project apps/tasks which will be calculated on it?

Thanks.

That application (the one requiring BOINC 7) has been withdrawn from the application list.

There is a WUProp application v4.00 for Windows, but it does not require BOINC 7.

Conan

This is and was the test app.

The app my PC got was a new app from a new category with gray heading [something like 'Data collect version 4 (needs BOINC 7)'] on the bottom of the app page.

It looks like the admin withdrawn the new 'needs BOINC v7 app' for the regular members.

I guess just members with 'allow test apps' in their >project settings<* could get the new v4 test app.

It's a pity that the admin don't write (and didn't wrote in past) infos about new apps.

[* My project settings page is broken.
I see a few Warning's and one Strict Standards infos.

Again a new app (v4). What's new?

It's needed to upgrade to BOINC v7 for to participate further at WUProp?

13) Message boards : Number crunching : Max. runtime of v3.42? (Message 1025)
Posted 9 Mar 2013 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
Currently I don't have continuously internet connection.

What's the max. runtime of the v3.42 Windows app?

My BOINC got after:
10h:08m:04s elapsed - 12s CPU - time
...and...
9h:41m:17s elapsed - 5s CPU - time
...computation errors:

<core_client_version>7.0.52</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Maximum disk usage exceeded
</message>
<stderr_txt>
(...)

Which runtime would be fine, for not to get an error?
6, 7 or 8 hours?

Maybe it's possible to edit the client_state.xml for to increase the max. disk usage value, so I could let run the app at least 24 hours?
Because normally I go currently 1 time/day online.

Thanks.

BTW.
Maybe for people which can go only 1 time/day online, it would be possible to get them 8 WUs in a bunch?
14) Message boards : News : Application updated (Message 906)
Posted 17 Feb 2013 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
I noticed my machine had the Data collect version 3 3.41 windows_intelx86 (nci) for a short time, ~ 18 hours.

After/since then (16 Feb 2013 9:09:58 UTC) my machine have the Data collect version 3 3.42 windows_intelx86 (nci).

What was different in 3.41 and is different in 3.42?

Thanks.
15) Message boards : Number crunching : 464.25 RAC/host, how is this possible? (Message 865)
Posted 9 Feb 2013 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
skgiven, what happen at other BOINC projects it's up to the admins there and you.

WUProp collect data of other BOINC projects.

IMHO, WUProp should accept only the stock apps (of WUProp) - and no 'anonymous platform' (app_info.xml file usage), here at WUProp.

So noone can cheat here at WUProp.

hostid=46285:
Current Cr.: 49,350
and RAC: 464.25

All other WUProp members get max. 56 RAC/host.

I don't think that the above mentioned host collect useful data for WUProp.
16) Message boards : Number crunching : 464.25 RAC/host, how is this possible? (Message 857)
Posted 8 Feb 2013 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
The OS is Android, AFAIK for smart- & cell- phones, netbooks and tablets.
4 CPUs, to I guess netbook or tablet.

IMHO, 'anonymous platform' shouldn't be allowed here.
I guess it's possible to adjust the server software to allow only stock apps.

Someone informed the admin about this?

[EDIT of the title from 464.25 RAC, how is this possible? to 464.25 RAC/host, how is this possible?]

http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/top_hosts.php

464.25 RAC, how is this possible?
79.88?
63.09?
59.78?
56.61?

I thought the highest possible RAC would be 56 / host.

24 hours / 3 hours = 8 WUs x 7 Cr. = 56 Cr. day = 56 RAC.

19) Message boards : Science : Duration Correction Factor (Message 706)
Posted 28 Jun 2012 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
Since a few days my machine calculate WUProp@Home work units...

The estimated time of the work units was correct a long time (~ 3 hours).

Then I made a reboot of my machine and then the estimated times are too high (~ 3 days).

I didn't looked to the Duration Correction Factor before, but now it's ~ 28.
Normally it should be ~ 1.

Is this a known problem?
20) Message boards : Science : Frequency of Update of Results (Message 704)
Posted 27 Jun 2012 by Profile Sutaru Tsureku
Ahh... - O.K.

There was a release of a new app for around one year: http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/forum_thread.php?id=108
I released a new application for Windows, Linux and Mac Intel:

The application will collect data every minutes.
The workunits will compute for 3 hours and will grant 7 credits.

I understand it like every 60 seconds data are collected with this new app.

Currently I use a BOINC Manager mod, which report every 10 minutes the uploaded results of all projects.

So this would mean the WUProp@Home work units/results of my machine are currently unusable/worthless?
