Not accepting requests from this host
(Message 9046)
Posted 17 May 2022 by aendgraend Post: Sebastien, I tend to call myself a long time supporter, and we had contact several times the past 12+ years, but to be honest, I think it's an unfortunate if not stupid decision. I - as well as many others for sure - have loads of projects involved that don't have a constant supply of enough work, so the computer runs dry more often than not. To ban the computer because of this is just stupid. Very unfortunate, but I will need to disconnect my hosts from WUprop if you decide to keep it that way. I don't have the will to support nonsense. Grid computing center
(Message 5371)
Posted 10 Jul 2017 by aendgraend Post: Because of some participants who abused by multiplying clients which run only Grid computing center, workunits from those clients will be invalid. No hours will be counted. I'm sorry to having to say that, but in my Opinion it's an absolutely stupid decision to invalid correctly processed Workunits and not counting the Hours. Nothing else. You lead your project to absurdity if real processed work isn't counted anymore. That hasn't anything to do with multipying hosts. If one sets up a hosts, be it virtual or not, one invests in Hardware and/or Electrocity Costs to process the Work. In Addition, the Project itself encourages the participants to do so. So, as I said above, stupid decision, and in hindsight you'll come to pretty much the same insight. |
