The Rake Search project:
http://82.196.66.12:12179/rakesearch/

Doesn't work/exist.

IMO Any unknown new projects that are port forwarded over non secure http should be treated with great suspicion.
Especially over a wireless broadband service (to a phone or mobile device) in Russia.
Rake in email addresses & search for passwords or legitimate science? You decide.

I have tasks. Kind of hard to get those if the site doesn't exist.

Page doesn't load for me.

It's there. Firewall blocking it maybe?

They are looking at getting a Domain for it.
http://82.196.66.12:12179/rakesearch/forum_thread.php?id=10&postid=17#17

I asked the question:
Is there going to be a .com address or just an IP?

They are looking at getting a domain for it, I believe it is currently deployed on the site of the Institute of Applied Mathematical Research of the Karelian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences :-)

SELinux was blocking one of my computers from connecting to the site, had to make an exception for it.

Message 5599 - Posted: 10 Sep 2017, 18:06:48 UTC - in response to Message 5595.

My ISP is probably blocking due to the IP not being a properly registered domain. After changing my NS to google an NSlookup query says it's a non-existant domain.
While I can use a secure browser to reach the site I can't attach to the project using BM. Unless I setup a proxy/create a route/use a VPN or something like that I'll have to wait until they register and setup their DNS pointers properly. It's Linux only ATM and I'm not keen on messing up my 2u systems.

I use OpenDNS.com's Home Free version and have no problems attaching to the project site.

Try their setting for your DNS settings:
The OpenDNS nameservers are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

This project uses IP address instead of DNS name, so computer does not have to perform DNS query in order to get IP address. I suspect that ISP blocks outgoing connections to non-standard ports. Or maybe that ISP performs reverse DNS query on IP and blocks connection if it fails? In such case other DNS also would not help. This also maybe a selinux is a problem.

BTW, I had problem with connecting one of my hosts to PRIVATE GFN SERVER in the past, which also uses non-standard port. As I recall, connect() function returned "permission denied" error. What was strange, I was able to download project file using wget executed by boinc user. I did not investigate this further, my other hosts did not have such problem so I used them instead.

No joy with those NS's. Tried others too. BM won't attach.
ISP might be packet filtering or blocking the IP range.
---

Or maybe that ISP performs reverse DNS query on IP and blocks connection if it fails?

That's probably most likely. It's a common block now. The project admins need to sort that out. Maybe their uni bought an IP address or range without a domain name or their their DRP isn't up to much.

Will leave it for now...

I found that GPUGRID added new app "Quantum Chemistry" (CPU, Linux), and Linux version of "Anaconda Python 3 Environment". There are no WUs for them yet (status page shows that only few of them were sent). Former app also cannot be selected on GPUGRID preferences page. Looks that they are testing something, so we may expect that that finally will release more work for all of us.

Rosetta@home also released new app Rosetta (just appeared here in new app thread), but all WUs for it are now sent out. Additionally it is not possible to select only this app in R@H preferences.

I thought GPUGrid said they had no one to administer the BOINC side of things.

Not really. Matt's no longer part of the team any more but Tony has taking over some of the admin responsibilities.

Posted 6 days ago by Toni Hi all, I'm planning to test an experimental app ("Python"). That should be CPU only, Linux only (for now). That should enable (in the future) different kinds of computations that we need e.g. for preparing systems.

Apologies in advance for any crashes...

Credits and run time should be symbolic, for now.

Thanks, as always, for your support!

At some point (& probably some way off) Gianni & Tony will likely lead the dev & test for a new GPU app too.

I've attached & finished setting up an account but the project isn't initializing; communication keeps getting deferred. I guess they are still working on things & it does sometimes take a day or two for the FQDN to propagate to WW routers. Also, the Reverse DNS Ptr record might not have been setup...

Are you able to connect to Odlk? It does not have rev-DNS record too:
user:~$ dig +noall +answer boinc.progger.info
boinc.progger.info. 2334 IN A 176.196.98.66
user:~$ dig +noall +answer -x 176.196.98.66

If yes, your problem is not caused by missing rev-DNS record.

BTW, queries for server with configured rev-DNS record looks like this:
user:~$ dig +noall +answer gpugrid.net
gpugrid.net. 37902 IN A 84.89.134.145
user:~$ dig +noall +answer -x 84.89.134.145
145.134.89.84.in-addr.arpa. 13530 IN PTR grosso.upf.edu.

Edit: please enable http debug in BOINC logging options and try to connect again. In logs you should be able to find more details why it cannot connect.

Two yoyo@home projects which started recently are close to completion. Nontrivial Collatz Cycle will stop sending WUs in 6 days, according to current progress at http://www.rechenkraft.net/yoyo/y_status_col.php. Perfect Cuboid progress page http://www.rechenkraft.net/yoyo/y_status_pcu.php yesterday showed that it will end in about 3 weeks (today it does not shows WUs in progress). I expect that it will speedup significantly after Collats end, so this may decrease to about 2 weeks. If you do not have hours or badges there yet, soon may be too late.

CSG has just launched a new app named
EXACT Batch Norm With Scaled FMP CNN Trainer

Edit:
LOL, heck, I need to update my FF first. I just saw that the app appeared in the new app thread three minutes before... :D

Looks like the 1st batch was bad. No work for any app atm.

GoofyxGridathome has resumed NCI work on Monkey V1 & V3 apps at a SLIGHTLY MODIFIED OLD URL ... http://nci.goofyxgridathome.net/.

I was able to connect all my PC's successfully just using my project email & pwd.

No word yet what will happen to the GridCompute GoofyxGrid URL project as all the points, computers etc seem to be carried over EXCEPT THE GridCompute GoofyxGrid FORUM POSTS.

CPU versions to be added at later date on http://cpu.goofyxgridathome.net/.

Sebastien, could you add the new Monkeys project URL against the nci Monkeys apps, as V1 & V3 have restarted and the hours are not showing up here?

http://nci.goofyxgridathome.net/

3 Grid computing center Monkeys v1 (NCI) - Generator/1 seed 33,347.37 0.00
4 Grid computing center Monkeys v2 (NCI) - Seeker/1 seed 33,016.65 0.00
17 Grid computing center Monkeys v3 (NCI) - Generator/Word seed 25,123.35 0.00
21 Grid computing center Monkeys v4 (NCI) - Seeker/Word seed 23,790.92 0.00

There is no work for V2 and V4 at present, though the apps are listed at the project.

http://nci.goofyxgridathome.net/server_status.php

There are no CPU apps from the cpu goofyx site at present:

http://cpu.goofyxgridathome.net/

Thanks, and thanks Dr Who Fan!
