GPUGRID started sending out tasks for Quantum Chemistry app. There is only one app version, for Linux 64 bit. Additionally there is some issue with sending tasks, some hosts do not get any. I tried on few my hosts and only ones with Nvidia card got some work from server.

All tasks error out atm.

GPUGrid only works on Nvidia cards, they tried it on AMD/ATI cards a while back but quit, they are working now on getting a cpu app working.

GPUGrid's Quantum Chemistry app is a multi-thread CPU app for Linux systems. It's been in development for a while. The latest app version (3.14) was released on 14th Dec 2017. I've quite a few hours for it:

    GPUGRID Quantum Chemistry 9,501.57

There are 48K tasks sitting waiting to be sent out & only 750 in progress:

    Quantum Chemistry 48,770 750

And it needs gcc5.5

sudo apt-get install gcc-5 g++-5

Starting more than 1 task at a time gives an error. I'd suggest only running 1 task on 4 threads.

I'm able to run tasks on 30 threads and the WUProp app see this. Run times vary greatly:

GCC 4.9.2-6 on Fedora 21 works fine, however 4.9 on Fedora 16 does not, needs something else that I have not found, either that or I need to upgrade Fedora 16.

They do have different run times for me as well.

They seem to take as much CPU as needed when ncpus is set to 4. I haven't tried using this yet.

<cmdline>-t 4</cmdline>

The last 2 to complete have taken much more CPU for a lot less points:
Run Time CPU Time Credit
2,389.43 26,206.90 549.62
3,034.92 36,710.33 94.32

Rosetta has released a new version of the basic Rosetta application and hours are counting from zero.

Version 4.06 released 22 Nov 2017

Only thing I ever get is the Rosetta Mini Wu's. I never get a Wu that just says Rosetta

It's been out for awhile. 3.78 Rosetta Mini and 4.06 Rosetta. No option to select either app in preferences so ya get what ya get.

Going by WUProp I've never had a Rosetta task either, and it looks like there is a ratio of 10:1 at present (mini:Rosetta).

The Rosetta tasks seem to take twice as long compared to the mini tasks (4h mini : 8h Rosetta),
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/delai.py

However, targeting CPU run time [off, 1 to 24h] to @24h seems to make no difference in what task types I get!

Rosetta has an option for how long the tasks run. 1h, 2h, 8h, etc. Some still run longer for some reason for both Rosetta and Mini. WUProp db average means nothing.

As I said we can't select which ones we get.

Still not in the apps list... can it be added please? :-\

Also, I'm wondering that the app from nanohub.org (boinc2docker) is still not in the apps list, although the project is already online since the start of 2017. The project released sporadically work at beginning, stopped then and resumed it in the last one to two months. I've crunched a few work units until then but the hours are (of course) not showing up yet because it's not added yet...

Sourcefinder has a new app "Beta application for SoFiA. All radical changes will be tested here first before being sent to the normal sofia app."

Not working well at the moment but Sam is saying he'll have it fixed soon...

The new Sourcefinder Sofia Beta App is running. With mixed WU results some passing some failing as you expect in a Beta test environment.

Appears that you need a system with lots of resources to run more than two WU's at a time.

Looks like the same poor app as before. Tasks just stop and won't start until the BOINC client is restarted.

I managed to get the minimum 100 Hr's by running 8 @ a time on my Laptop, it has 64gb of Memory, sorta sluggish but it ran them, I don't run Duchamp any more than I have to because of their App's ...

I didn't happen to check the system where I ran these, does the duchamp VM use a lot of memory? BOINC was only reporting ~95mb, which I thought was low. Other Vbox apps often use much more.

I have a RNA task running on that PC so I'm hesitant to restart the client unless absolutely required. I'd rather abort these and try on another system.

you are right .. better to abort a poor running Beta than risk good work from a valid project.

RNA tasks are pretty tough, mine ones survived many BOINC restarts, and even few VirtualBox upgrades.
