Have WUProp presently *suspended* i.e. not to do anything, but notice in the message log the hourly 'call home'. Why that has to be hourly when project is suspended / no work fetch has been set, I don't know, but it starts to irritate. Other project set theirs to once every few days or longer. Pls change that setting as I'm not interested to let you know every hour that the machine is on, and set to not do anything for WUProp presently. thx. --//-- Log Snip: DESKTOP-02 1000 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:54 [sched_op] Starting scheduler request 1001 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:54 Sending scheduler request: Requested by project. 1002 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:54 Not reporting or requesting tasks 1003 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:54 [sched_op] CPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 CPUs 1004 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:57 Scheduler request completed 1005 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:57 [sched_op] Server version 611 1006 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:57 Project requested delay of 7 seconds 1007 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:57 [sched_op] Deferring communication for 7 sec 1008 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 21:30:57 [sched_op] Reason: requested by project 1037 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:02 [sched_op] Starting scheduler request 1038 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:02 Sending scheduler request: Requested by project. 1039 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:02 Not reporting or requesting tasks 1040 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:02 [sched_op] CPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 CPUs 1041 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:05 Scheduler request completed 1042 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:05 [sched_op] Server version 611 1043 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:05 Project requested delay of 7 seconds 1044 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:05 [sched_op] Deferring communication for 7 sec 1045 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 22:31:05 [sched_op] Reason: requested by project 1067 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:07 [sched_op] Starting scheduler request 1068 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:07 Sending scheduler request: Requested by project. 1069 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:07 Not reporting or requesting tasks 1070 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:07 [sched_op] CPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 CPUs 1071 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:10 Scheduler request completed 1072 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:10 [sched_op] Server version 611 1073 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:10 Project requested delay of 7 seconds 1074 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:10 [sched_op] Deferring communication for 7 sec 1075 WUProp@Home 10-3-2012 23:31:10 [sched_op] Reason: requested by project 1087 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:12 [sched_op] Starting scheduler request 1088 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:12 Sending scheduler request: Requested by project. 1089 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:12 Not reporting or requesting tasks 1090 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:12 [sched_op] CPU work request: 0.00 seconds; 0.00 CPUs 1091 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:14 Scheduler request completed 1092 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:14 [sched_op] Server version 611 1093 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:14 Project requested delay of 7 seconds 1094 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:14 [sched_op] Deferring communication for 7 sec 1095 WUProp@Home 11-3-2012 0:31:14 [sched_op] Reason: requested by project |

Well, once per hour isn't bad... and several projects do it like e0n and such... I guess the server just wants to see if your box is still alive... 8-) |

Have WUProp presently *suspended* i.e. not to do anything, but notice in the message log the hourly 'call home'. Actually, it's not the project's fault, but the BOINC client's. The project informs the client that it should contact the project every so often when the volunteer subscribes to it, which the client seemingly obeys even when the project is suspended. HTH PS: why is it so hard to post without it being flagged as spam? Would typing some gibberish change anything?
