Hi. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere ...

No valid results on Computer 42398.

Details:-

Computer 42398 runs Windows 7 Home Premium x86 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00), BOINC version 7.0.28, current wuprop application.

I have tried the Detach/re-attach, no joy.

Help!

Did you crunch other projects than wuprop on this host?

Yes - seti for about 18 months maybe more.

Just a thought - does wuprop require that other projects are running on a PC in order to work?

Yes. What is it going to measure if there's nothing running but itself?

Cheers,

Al.

Different PC, same problem ... see http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results.php?hostid=60298 (which is also running Enigma@home OK).
Stderr says "Nombre de GPU non conforme: 0" ... which is OK since there is no BOINC-usable GPU on the Raspberry Pi.

BOINC event log says "App reporting negative checkpoint CPU: -0.000001"

Any ideas?

(Previous PC is OK.)

It looks like your computer is being sent work for application version 3.50 instead of 4.08. As it's running BOINC 7.0.27 I'd expect it to be receiving the newer version (my computers are running BOINC 6.12.43 and 7.0.73 and they're only being sent work for v4.08).

He is running Linux:
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/show_host_detail.php?hostid=60298

Applications page shows:
'Linux running on an ARM compatible CPU: 3.50 (nci)'
(and 'Android running on an ARM CPU (arm): 4.05 (nci)')

No valid results on computer 62826.
Neither reset nor detach/re-attach changed this.

There are two other computers with identical Hardware with exactly the same problem.

Any thoughts or ideas what might happen?

Panda Antivirus is active on all three PCs.

The same AV is also running on other PCs on which WUProp is running without any Problem.

If the computers that run WUProp successfully are also Windows and have the same Anti-Virus, do the settings match on the ones that work against the ones that don't?
Could just be something a bit different between how the Anti-Virus is set up.

I have had this problem with my two Windows computers running the same set up and Anti-Virus (Trend Micro in my case, and even had to ring their help desk to sort out why it kept stopping certain programmes including WUProp).
Mine would run till the version number changed then it got blocked, an Anti-Virus setting was changed and all now working OK.

All PCs are centrally managed, same software and same configuration.
I cannot exclude parts of the harddisk from protection.

I have uninstalled the antivirus program but the problem remains the same: calculation error after a few seconds.

Are these 3 PC's that you PERSONALLY OWN at your residence and NOT belonging to/at your employer/place of employment?

I have uninstalled the antivirus program but the problem remains the same: calculation error after a few seconds.

Below is information and a link to a program you can install and run to see what [if anything] is locking the WuProp files. I have used it for many years with great success. Just be sure to uncheck the "Drive-by/Add-on software" it wants to also install.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker/
Unlocker 1.9.2
Unlocker - 1.03MB (Freeware)

If you've ever been unable to delete a file in Windows, and can't figure out what program's using it, Unlocker is the solution. Have you ever seen these Windows error messages?

Cannot delete folder: It is being used by another person or program
Cannot delete file: Access is denied
There has been a sharing violation.
The source or destination file may be in use.
The file is in use by another program or user.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
Unlocker can help! Simply right-click the folder or file and select Unlocker. If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear. Simply click Unlock All and you are done!

Be sure that I am using only computers which I am allowed to use for distributed computing.

I have checked with unlocker. The work unit is only locked by the WUProp app.

I think that the problem is related to the processor / OS combination since I have these computation errors on three identical PCs. On all other PCs WUProp runs without any problem.
