For the past two days all I've been getting when I rewquest work is: 28/01/2013 18:25:34 | WUProp@Home | Requesting new tasks for CPU 28/01/2013 18:25:35 | WUProp@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 28/01/2013 18:25:35 | WUProp@Home | No work sent 28/01/2013 18:25:35 | WUProp@Home | This computer has finished a daily quota of -5 tasks) Other computers on this account are still getting work and this PC was alright until a couple of days back. I've tried resetting and even detatched and reconnected and still get the same message. Any ideas how I can get another WU? |

Just check your results and see if that host is producing valid results. I suspect it isn't since the last application update and has sent back the maximum allowed number of work units per day (with errors). I have had 2 Windows computers do this over the last few days as my Anti-Virus keeps blocking them (and a couple of other projects). I had a similar message and had to wait for a full day till I was allowed more work. Detaching and re-attaching won't change this as the server keeps a record. Conan |

Good thinking but no success. I only have results saved for the last two days on the computer that is still getting work, nothing for the other as it last returned a WU on the 25th and any results have long since been deleted. Up until that point it was working fine and I've made no changes to it. Since then, nothing but "This computer has finished a daily quota of -5 tasks)" I understand that if it had been returning invalid results then it would make sense to stop it getting work but as I've now not been able to get any work on it for five days, how is it supposed to start again? It does seem to have happened with a change in application: 25/01/2013 20:17:29 | WUProp@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks Version 339 seemed to work fine but as soon as I returned a WU processed with version 340, everything stopped. |

G'Day Woodles, For my problem I got no indication there was a problem in either BOINC Manager messages or with the Anti Virus programme (Trend Micro Titanium). It wasn't till I checked my account at the project and looked at each host that I found my Windows machines were returning errors. The error was basically the work unit was blocked from starting and therefore failed. But Boinc did not tell me this and my Anti-Virus didn't say it blocked anything either. In fact the Anti-Virus has been blocking another 2 or 3 projects as well, but does not tell me why, I only find out by lack of output or checking my accounts. Very annoying. I did get a slightly different message to yourself. Mine said it had reached it's daily quota of 8 results (which is all a computer can return in one day at 3 hours each, mine returned then in a few seconds). Then later it said I had reached my daily quota of 2 tasks and said this for a day before saying daily quota of 1 task. Finally after almost 2 days I got a WU (the day of the errors and a day to wait as it will only send a maximum of 8 work units in a day). I don't know about your -5 (minus 5) tasks, I can't see how you can get -5 tasks. Hope that the admins see this and respond. Conan |
