OK, I'm a badge whore, I admit it. I just discovered the new badges and came here to check what I qualified for, but found nothing. I've been running wuprop on numerous computers solidly for almost 3 years, night and day, since shortly after it opened, I believe. My "reported data" shows this:

Asteroids@home Period Search Application 2,932.42
FreeHAL@home FreeHAL 2012 app 1,019.00
World Community Grid Help Conquer Cancer 359.20
PrimeGrid PPS (Sieve) 219.57
Moo! Wrapper Distributed.net Client 198.33
NumberFields@home Get Decic Fields 150.67
SETI@home SETI@home Enhanced 84.22
Einstein@Home Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo) 80.37
Collatz Conjecture collatz 66.20
yoyo@home Cruncher ogr 22.55
Collatz Conjecture mini_collatz 7.95
NumberFields@home Get Decics with Bounded Discriminant 7.40

which, to me, seems patently wrong. I've been running a range of apps in that time, including all primegrid projects, all WCG projects, enigma and a number of others. The most obvious error being that I only started running asteroids within the lsat few weeks, again chasing badges, but that's shown as the highest credit item! I only started NumberFields within the last few days. So those figures don't add up at face value.

Maybe I'm assuming something incorrectly. Is there a time frame here or should I be credited for all work I've done? I'm definitely assuming the latter

Could we have a detailed explanation of how stats are calculated and applied, and how the badge system works, please, so we can all understand exactly what's required?

Many thanks.

Any work done for the Projects/Applications that were done before the Badges were implemented don't count because the Badges are not Retroactive. It would be to hard for the WUProp Project to figure out the amount of Computation Hr's you already have put in. The Badges were implemented only a few weeks ago so anything done since is the only work counted towards the Badges ...

There is also a discussion already under the news forum that has covered most of this. However, it is easily overlooked due to the title and how the discussion progressed. http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/forum_thread.php?id=159

Thank you both. That's pretty bad, actually. I can't think of another case that hasn't respected earlier work. I presume that's because you don't have records or something, but not good after all that work. :-(

If you do then it should just be a matter of running a script over the data.

Maybe you could consider a stand-alone "past credit" award or something?

OProject was one that couldn't go retroactive. However, the project had not yet ran for very long before they went to badges. The problem with retroactive is that the projects who did, are typically points based which simplifies it and probably still had that information in the database. That last part is critical.

Numberfields is another project that had more then one app and couldn't reference the data to segregate between them. So, they just made one badge. http://numberfields.asu.edu/NumberFields/forum_thread.php?id=78#786

So how do you get a badge in this project. I run many projects on multiple machines and I have wuprop running on them.

I am also confused with this reported data from my account page, as I have been running WCG on multiple WCG projects for a while yet it only shows one project ??? I currently have 5 computers and 26 cores running World Community Grid but that is not reflected here ??

Reported data
Project Application Running time (hours) Pending (hours)
World Community Grid Beta - FightAIDS@Home 4.82 0.00
PrimeGrid PPS (Sieve) 2.02 0.00

The Badge list just really confuses me.

1* -10000 2* -11000 3* -11100 4* -11110 5* -11111 1* -20000 2* -21000 3* -21100 4* -21110 5* -21111

2* -22000 3* -22100 4* -22110 5* -22111 3* -22200 4* -22210 5* -22211 4* -22220 5* -22221 5* -22222

5* -33322 4* -33330 5* -33331 5* -33332 5* -33333 1* -40000 2* -41000 3* -41100 4* -41110 5* -41111

G'Day Dingo,

Yep, that's almost correct.

100 hours each on 20 different Applications, not 20 Projects, to get a Bronze Badge.

As some projects have multiple applications you can get to 20 applications quite easily (e.g. SLinCA has 7 apps, WCG has heaps, PrimeGrid has lots, but others have just the one app like Asteroids or SubsetSum).

Getting 40 apps is still easily reachable, 60 will be a struggle for me, 80 and 100 could be beyond me.

But have a go, you don't have to do much except select what projects applications you want to run, and then wait for the hours to build up.

You have to have a WUProp WU running in order to get the hour tracking correct? How does that work if there's no work available here (in theory)?
