Agreed. It only made sense. But ARRRRRG! For a minute there I had an 11th star that. alas, has now disappeared.
Those who have been around awhile may remember the now defunct FubarHal errr FreeHal project. I had just hit 1 million combined credits (a decade or so ago when that actually meant something) and one of the project's litany of errors reared it's ugly head causing me to drop back below that coveted threshold. I was quite disappointed until a wise teammate pointed out that not many people get a chance to get their first million twice!!

Yeah if we could get our Composite Grid hours to add up we could all have a few more stars, they have periodic tasks for different apps making it very nice for more rings.

And Yes I remember FreeHal too but I think I quit after the problems.

DOH!!!! OF COURSE they are!!!

SiDocktest apps all less than 100 hours cause I was not back into app hunting mode till a few weeks ago (the heat break was 6 months this record setting year).

*sigh* up to 33 never-again-to-be-seen-under-100-hours-apps now.

LOL, not exactly sure what pain you mean, but regarding apps under 100 hours I have 73 if I have counted correctly now, which would mean 3 bronze stars more at least currently. :-O
That's much, but I guess, there could be people which have more.
Well, that's not really a pain for me, sometimes if you start the hunt you know exactly that you won't get the 100 hours but you do it nevertheless - don't know why it's just an addiction. ;-)

No luck here. BOINC Mgr won't do it and that is one of the most jacked up websites I've seen in a while.

Sorry for my recent inactivity. A paper has been posted on arxiv for this project at https://arxiv.org/abs/1603.03301, and has been submitted for publication. I would like to thank all the volunteers who contributed their resources to this project. The project will no longer generate new work, but will incorporate any results received.

A bit wondering about the WUProp-report from the app. If the owner tries to revive it now then we simply have to wait until the site is fully back up probably, trying it now is surely a waste of time. ;-)

The VDW Numbers web site and forum were working about 1 hour after the automated post indicating there was work, but could not get any of my PC's to attach or post to forums.

Since that time its obvious someone has messed around with large portions of the web site's html code and broke it. All we can do is wait for the projects admin to realize it's broke and fix it.

I got over 25 cpu tasks on my Windows laptop and all but 2 of them had a problem and now I can't return them or get new ones. The 2 that completed successfully were 1 second long and that could be a part of their problem...to many people needing to connect waaaay to often.

I signed up a month or so ago and the website was working but they had no tasks so it just sat there asking for tasks but never getting any until yesterday. It does show up on my list of apps here at WuProp though:

There were new posts on their forums in the past few days.
The Active Projects link here at WUProp had 70 some recent tasks when I 1st saw the post in the sticky then the next time I checked there were hundreds.
Free-DC also had some credit updates for several users.

All those things made me think the project had new work. But if users got work and can't return it then it seems like something is broken.

yeah, it updated for sure and it hasn't got my CPID change I made about 8 months ago, hence I lost 121k :)

I'll see if the website returns before I fix that manually.

Wonder what they want to do now since the project obviously came to an official close.

I'm hoping that they just got overwhelmed with users and need a few days to get things figured out so they can come back online again. I guess hope springs eternal is my thinking as I am always trying to find the good in things although sometimes it's REALLY hard.
