Freehal has been down for months now. How is it that some are still accumulating hours with that project? Tasks run a few hours. It went down in april. http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/active_projects.py 239 work units in the past 24 hours.... Reno, NV Team: SETI.USA |

Pending Hours may be counting towards Active Projects, which is not good! If a computer was off for months (holidays or used very infrequently) then it could still perform FreeHal work, which would count as Pending, even though the WU's have long since past their return by date. When pending work doesn't get reported, it remains pending indefinitely, which is not good! I removed FreeHal from most of my systems a month ago, so I can't try to upload anything, but I expect there isn't an active upload server as I can't attach to the project. As is, my 571h pending for FreeHal will be there for ever. To me it doesn't really matter as I've over 5000h. The fact that there isn't any higher badges, or a 6th, 7th, 8th... star is more of a concern (limited system). There is just the usual blurb on FreeHal's main page, but their BOINC link to freehal at home now redirects to another 'offline' page saying, "On Sunday, April 7, a database server crash resulted in an unexpected downtime of our servers. We are in contact with our server donors and are trying to find a solution and recover the data. In the meantime, there is unfortunately no way to access Freehal@home in any way. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause". https://www.freehal.net/?page=offline 234 WU's does seem quite a lot for a project that's been down for >2months: FreeHAL 211 FreeHAL 2012 app 23 |
