all my wu's on th elinux host abort like this:
WU.

When simply running on the commandline(standalone mode) it works:

.../boinc-client/projects/wuprop.boinc-af.org/data$ ../data_collect_v4_4.13_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__nci

Any idea?

Did you try to reset or detach project?
Which disto did you run?

No reset until now. (did it now) And due to the quota, I'll see something only tommow.

I'm using debian (unstable).

I didn't find any problems with file cache
I installed debian sid in a VM and project runs fine.
Can you test commands above?

I need to logon as user boinc (su -s /bin/bash boinc):

difference is obviously the display, I assume to detect the GPU's...

Please, find here application with gpu_detection disabled.
Stop boinc client.
Copy this file in wuprop directory.
Add file app_info.xml in wuprop directory. Content is above
