I have two Linux x86_64 systems, both running the same release of Linux Mint17.

One of them has run a few WUProp jobs, and each of these has consumed ~19 CPU seconds in the 6-hour elapsed run.

However, the other system (which does additionally have an AMD GPU card running tasks) is running the WUProp task at ~60% CPU continuously - which is hardly "non-CPU-intensive".

Any ideas as to why this is occurring - and what I can to about it?

Is it the same task, or are multiple tasks showing this behavior? It sounds like you just may have a task with some funky error; you could try aborting it and see if successive tasks have the same problem.

If it's this system,

Cross-project stats:
BOINCstats.com Free-DC 3 0.69 14 7.2.42 GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz [Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7]
(4 processors) CAL AMD Radeon HD 6570/6670/7570/7670 series (Turks) (1024MB) driver: 1.4.1848 Linux
3.13.0-24-generic 21 Jul 2014

Then it has not returned a task since the 21st Jul. So if it's running a WUProp task abort it!

If it's the ARM system, it's not exactly a high end processor so 200sec over 6h seems about right to me.
