How does this project get access to whole boinc folder and data of other projects?

This project collects only properties of workunits such as computation time, memory requirements, checkpointing interval or report limit

In a few days, i'll publish results.

Merci

Results are published on this page.
For instant, only the choice per cpu is possible.

I am writing code for the others choices.
Then I will work on the layout.

Where do you get the data for some temporarily disabled projects, like picevolvr ? It became inactive before WUProp started

Could have been even more interessant if you had recorded errors too. I see a correlation (non-significant with my few samples) between errors frequencies and the memory size needed for ecm & cms for one specific OS. That may be usefull for projects managers. This might not be a randomly trend as those two applications requires the largest amounts of RAM in this one OS-case.

Other results as for CPUs may remain somewhat "mysticals". A little more expensive explanations about what those results tells old database-dummies like me, will enhance the value & interest for this project. Looking forward for that when you'll get the opportunity to achieve this.

Any chance of collecting the amount of data downloaded and uploaded, i.e., the WU payload and the result sizes?

It's a good idea.
I'll study if it is possible

How are checkpoints being calculated or sampled?
I just have a Garli from Lattice on my computer, that shows a strange behaviour:
1. Crunching for quite some time without checkpoints, on my case 43h 'til first
2. Crunching further on with a chackpoint evers minute
3. crunching for quite some time without checkpoint at the end (not yet experienced myself, but read it on the forum there)

Will they show an average?
Will the range show 1min - 43h?
Is this behaviour anticipated and recorded in any way?

Any chance of providing average time to complete a WU, average claim per WU, and average credit grant per WU? That way we could (finally) have an apples-to-apples discussion on crunching efficiency and credit disparity.

Time and claim could be possible, grant is impossible, as it's done on the project server. And if I take a look at Einstein and Docking, at least here the claim is severely wrong on my machines.

It would be interesting to be able to select different GPUs the same way that CPUs are selected.

In the same vein, it would be a good idea to distinguish CPU from GPU applications.

How about measuring the amount of disk space used in the slot folder?

I wonder if WUProj could also collect statistics on the ratio of failed WUs to successful ones.

TIA

I am curious to know what value this information has? For what purpose? And to who? It has no value to me that I can see (as a user) or am I missing a point? It also seem that once sufficient data is collected and the project's goals are met, it will terminate. Which may accure rather quickly as I see it. (That question was asked earlier by Tristesire in Mar without a reply).

As a side note, I wonder if this data collection is from 'public domain' sources or is it collected from user HD's?? Aren't most of the WU processing initated by command .exe programs? Once inside your computer, could the program be used to collect data (any?) from you systems. Hackers are extremely active and potent these days, as we all know. While I believe this project to be on the up-n-up, we cannot be too careful. Please enlighten me on these matter.
