I check most days to see if anyone from the project has answered my question that I posted a month and half ago. But other than us two I think everyone else went home and forgot to turn the lights off. :-)

Or is it more to the point that the lights are left on to give the illusion that someone is actually home?

there may be people here, occasionally, but there seems to be a lot of time between posts, some one just GOTTA have something interesting to say,

eg: what do people think of this new 3D tv,? its only just arrived here in the last few months,

or Who's got one of the AMD 6 core Phenom CPU's How does well does it operate?
does it work well for crunching?

Is there anyone here affected by the recent flooding in the southern parts of Australia?

I have noticed that there are not too many people crunching this project, maybe cos it does not pay a real lot, but i suppose its fair, you get a set amount for each system, the more systems you run the more credit,

I have found that if you are on a budget, there are sometimes older servers that are thrown away that have dual processors, for some projects they work well,

I have one here that i run Ubuntu 10.04 on and it seems to run well enough for what it is,

I think it is more to the fact the people looking for general discussions are typically already ingrained in other project forums. Why spread it out if you already have what you need. Typically those communities are created from projects that draw a lot of communication attention. That attention usually starts out with problems that need solved or a really cool project that has a lot of discussion. This project pretty much just says that x cpu produces y results. Not a lot of debate there. Quite frankly, it also is little interest to most crunchers. Even many of the big hitters avoid it because they don't see it that beneficial. Most heavy hitters crunch there own numbers and squeeze out each cycle rather then waste them on projects like these.

I see what you mean, but at the same time people that have systems that are not as powerful as others, (such as myself) run this project as an extra side earner, it just means that you can run this one as well as the others and still add to your credit without taking too much from your system,

At the moment i only run single core CPU's, thats all i can afford as they came from other people that threw them away,

but i run on a single cpu Freehal, Primegrid, and Wu-prop,

my dual CPU server running linux runs two instances of Freehal and Prime, one of Wu prop,

the extra 300 credits per day add up after a while.
