My one 16 thread machine is running 2 Rosetta and 14 of another project because I read the VBox Python app can use up to 8GB RAM.

Odds of getting one of those seem low with only 6 WU per day (8 hour runs) unless I start aborting every Rosetta WU until I get the desired ones.

Their preference section is hateful.

Basically not existent. The project doesn't limit downloads for failed work (aborting).

7.6GB mem, 9GB+ disk usage and VBox. Heck of a combo.

Anybody have a script I can use for the Python Wu's. I have 1 box that will only run 1 Python Wu & nothing else but I'm not getting credit for it using 8 cores if that's what it's doing. It has 32gb of memory so it should be able to run other projects too while running the 1 Python Wu IMO ...

I ran 2 Python units at a time on an I7 with 22gb of ram, only using 1 core each 2 cores total, and didn't have any problems. I used an app_config.xml file to limit the number of Rosetta tasks running at one time.

<app_config>
<project_max_concurrent>2</project_max_concurrent>
</app_config>

I then also ran 1 WCG Africa rainfall task at the same time, as on the Mac they take nearly 5gb of ram by themselves.

It is possible to use an app_info.xml to get only certain tasks by allowing only a specific app. You have to have the app already downloaded, and any associated files.

Don't ask me how. I am no good at writing app_info.xml at all.

I thought I had seen that a long time ago but also don't know how
