Seems that all my PCs attached to this project start network problems after running the 2.36 tonight.

symptoms:
1) firefox show a blank page instend his home
2) BOINC cannot connect to the net
3) many others network related problems (local LAN and internet)

detaching WUprop all problem disappear.

See also BOINC logs here:

I have exactly the same problem. First the network slows down, then all net apps have problems starting new connections.

I have seen the same problem. I did notice it is only affecting my Windows hosts; XP 32bit, Vista 32bit and Vista 64bit. My Mac and Liunx hosts seem fine, but they are running version 2.32 still.

For now I have aborted my Windows WUs and set to NNT.

Yes, indeed...thanks for the quick turnaround with the new app. Is the new app also what seems to be causing hourly updates by the project? Just curious. :-)

The new version certainly stopped the problems with network comms failure, but I still have slow access to web pages.

According to my router web browser page I have synchronised with the ADSL exchange DSLAm as fast as I ever have.

Could the new version have some small impact on networks still?

Indeed! Why?

[edit]OK, found the message 478.[/edit]

When reviewing my 2.36 tasks' lifetime, I remember I've hat weird networking problems on exastly these times on two machines. One of them seemed to be healed (a bit) by a reboot, but not completely.
