I've seen no project hours increase so far today. Earlier today I reported dozens of tasks for several different projects. Such updates use to be live, or close to it. I'm guessing the updates are now being done differently. Perhaps every 8h or something.

Now it's a bit more than 8 hours... if I should guess based on what I have seen while watching it the last couple of days, I'd say it stopped updating after the release of v3.42.

I just saw that there was a little movement in the stats data on the user account page, but not all of the data is up to date, but at least something seems to move again. Let's hope the best

I received runtime credit for Ibercivis' new/revamped project:

ibercivis Drug liberation simulations at the nanoscale 34.68

It's looking like projects are being updated one by one. I refreshed a few times and saw more and more projects were updated.
It makes sense for updates to be performed once or twice a day, rather than live.

One of the things that make BOINC fun to run is watching your Stat's go up & that especially goes for this Project with it's Weird Badge System. If the Stat's here are only going to be Updated Once a day or even Twice then the Project is a Real yawner to run. It don't have to be done live but I would think every 4 Hr's wouldn't be excessive. The Stat's haven't been Updated for at least 8 Hr's now, Yawn ...

Have you received any credit on the Ibercivis site for those tasks? I ask because it does not appear they have setup a validator for that application.

http://registro.ibercivis.es/server_status.php

No validator daemon showing on the left side of page, lots of workunits waiting for validation, and zeros in the avg runtime and users columns.

So if I understand this badge thingy correctly I need 100 hours each on 20 projects to get a badge?

That's going to take me a while.

Does the project only run 1 task at a time on a multi-thread CPU?

WUProp only needs 1 application running on your computer at a time as it monitors all threads and the WUs that are being processed.
Having another WUProp WU running would serve no purpose as it would just be collecting the same information as the 1st WU does.
So only one WU is needed for however many threads you have.

To be more precise: Not 20 projects, but 20 different applications.

Thanks. Wonder how much that will affect GPU apps that also use CPU cycles.

I've got Credits in 123 Different Projects but it meaningless since you have to start all over to get the Badges.

Show me any project, that introduced badges retroactive. Or, better, show me any project that had the necessary information to give badges retroactive for certain apps.
It's a pity, but it's nothing that could be done anything about.

You can't mean that seriously. All badges on all projects I crunch (which means with few exceptions all BOINC projects) are taking into account your entire history, i.e., they were all retroactive when introduced. Which is what makes this particular badge system meaningless, unless used as something like a period badge (e.g., annual competition). And if wuprop doesn't have the history, or isn't able to get the history from the individual projects, then why is it doing the badges? I guess I am missing some logic or purpose behind it...

KPX....obviously you don't run OProject....They didn't make badges retroactive and have different criteria for each of the badges.

The other projects either still had the necessary data or they took the simple route and made one badge based on points (yawn) that covered all apps rather then individual ones. I believe Numberfields is one of these that actually stated in their forums that they had to go that route due to not having the individualized data.

Seriously, none of the projects have the storage space necessary to have full backwards history of any of its users, except maybe very recent and small ones.

Doing points based badges, if single application, should be easy.

Time based badges with accurate historical data is just not possible, except introduced at the very start of a project or new application of the project.

BobCat13, thanks for the heads up. Yeah, I'm seeing the same problem!
I knew I had a lot PV's but thought they would have turned the validator on by now. I've disabled getting new work from Ibercivis for a while.
http://www.ibercivis.net/ibercivis/results.php?userid=22721

It's not good that so many projects are so badly run at present. Slinca has a failed uploader (something to do with zipping, but too busy to fix it for ages). The Almere Test Grid isn't granting credit either. So there are at least 3 projects that you can crunch for but get no credit. Then there is the MT problems that effect this badge system and other projects.

You have to have 1 WUProp Wu running on each Computer you have too ...
- Thanks. Wonder how much that will affect GPU apps that also use CPU cycles.

For years I have recommend 'freeing up' a CPU thread/core when running GPU projects, as it improves GPU productivity and reduces errors. I have also recommended running non CPU intensive projects, as they adds some Boinc credit while providing some useful statistical information. My only concern is that the projects could push out improperly tested apps that cause problems, but this is a concern for most projects.
