Hi, I still haven't got a badge :/ (working on it, though:D ), but I wanted to suggest some new badges: A total Hours badge, which is one big star, that show up next to the current badge; and a total credit badge, so that, if you crunch on few applications, you can still get recognized on your badge signature. |

While many projects do this, your Total hours is already displayed in your forum profile and in My Account:

Hi, skgiven - I know that many other projects do this, but wouldn't it be nice here, so people that only crunch for a few apps, but crunch a lot can still get recognized? And I'm nearly there now - 5 apps to go, and I am just gonna work on some that I know I can hit 100 hours on soon :D |

Regarding badges, this site is set up to accrue data for all boinc projects. It sort of defeats the purpose to accrue reams of data for a few projects and ignore the rest. |

I see your point, Werinbert, but some people use BOINC soley to help one or two projects (for example, SETI), so they may rack up say, 10,000 hours on SETI, but they wouldn't get recognised for their work on it - if the new badge system was intrduced, it should be similar to what it is now, but combined... |

The badges for individual projects should be offered by the individual projects in question. Some do, some don't . I think WUProp should stick to it's current format of rewarding badges based on crunching many Boinc projects as providing data across all Boinc projects is the main point of the project. I personally would rather WUProp increased it's badge above the 5 levels currently on offer as I have ( technically )8 badges now. |

I would say in that case, convince the folks at SETI to create badges... Until then, please make a new suggestion thread so we can get this one back on topic. |

Even if SETI added badges, people would still want recognition on this project for their total hour crunched - it is only fair - I mean, how hard is it to create a new badge? And ok - I'll start a new thread now... Here is the link to it: http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/forum_thread.php?id=337#2773 |

This isn't t-ball. People should really learn to earn things. The system is what it is and really isn't that hard to acquire. Part of the system is to encourage variety which improves the usefulness of the project altogether. Rewarding people for supporting one project is ridiculous at this point. If they don't want to really contribute more than a few applications, then that is a choice. By the way, Star four is now sapphire - And theoretical 8th star is now gold - |

I do see the point, Coleslaw, but certain devices CAN'T crunch on a lot of projects - e.g. the only Projects that I have found that the Raspberry Pi are Enigma@Home, Asteroids@Home and Einstein@Home - some people may not have (or be able to get) a device that can crunch more projects, so they should get some form of recognition for either total credit, or total hours. |

Moved my second star to Blue (5K+). Unsure I will ever get a 3rd star as I am more of a project loyalist instead of a jumper.I would probably get the first star further than adding more stars. My movie https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/502242 |
