Chasing applications, many more applications have been added to peoples accounts and quite a few people have joined the 180+ application list.

Quite a few changes to the number of apps that volunteers have been processing that are reported to Bok's "Free-DC" web site (you must allow for this export in you account preferences, there is no security problems as no one can access your account).

Six new additions to the list shiva, joe carnivore, Pete Broad, ruidocarmo, Extra Ball and Sir Stooper. A few more will either join the list or gain more stars by next month.

Since last month

LCB001 has gained a 15th star
Bok has gained his 14th star
vaughan and reklov have gained their 12th stars
Doctor Now and KPX have gained their 11th stars
james ying gained his 9th star last month
This month shiva, joe carnivore, Pete Broad, ruidocarmo, Extra Ball and Sir Stooper all gained their 9th stars.

I have just lost a star (the little app star I mean - I had 226 stars and have just 225 now). And I am not alone - I have checked a few people on Conan's list and some have lost a star as well. What happened? Were some applications merged? Or was an application removed from the list altogether?

So CMS-dev gets renamed and our hours get transferred to the new name. Different URL but the same app. BOINCManager followed the change seamlessly.

Yet TN Grid Test Platform had exactly the same thing: Project name change, same app, slightly different URL (IIRC) yet hours are kept separate.

Longer ago, VOLPEX went through the same thing and again, hours were kept separate. We might also have seen something similar with other projects but these are the ones I remember.

I didn't know that, but just noticed and confirmed it that they had a project rename. This must have been made without an announcement. When did that happen?

There were three different apps before the change to the Sieve app. I'm not sure if it would make sense to merge all these together - that would "cost" us two stars though. And I think the Sieve app isn't exactly the same as they were before anyway.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about VOLPEX - I only heard bad things about it and never had the "luck" to crunch anything there.

The fun continues. Getting work for some applications can be difficult or slow, so the hours take time to build up. However we are patient and will get there in the end.
I myself am trying to build hours in a number of applications, some new,
some I have been working on for a while.

Take heart! I feel like this every time I get the next star and then before you know it, you're sat there waiting for just one more app. I need just two more for my next star and four new apps have appeared this week - just as we start a PrimeGrid challenge, grrr!

This is so much more fun than credit chasing. Especially when a new project appears and only the stat sites know where they are. The tension!!

A massive effort to get 200 applications over 10,000 hours each.

Amazing milestone.

That is an achievement that I don't know if anyone else will get to in the immediate future (that being at least 6 months).

I suppose the hard bit now is converting apps to higher colours before that app gets superseded and a new app gets launched (or the project goes belly up).
