Very well done and congratulations Pete, Sellyme and Dr Who Fan. Is there a post someplace that explains what's needed to get the next badge, star, color change etc? |

G'Day everyone, it has been over 3 months since the last update. Hope you are all well and in good health, or as good as you can be. A few projects are no longer working but a few others have started up so still lots of applications for people to get. How many applications were you able to snag and build up 100 hours+ on to get a new star? Sorry to Sir Stooper as I spelt his name incorrectly at one spot in the last post. Lets see how you fared over the last 3 and a half months. Bok's "Free-DC" web site shows your hours and how you rank against others (you must allow for the hours export in you account preferences, there is no security problems as no one can access your account). Just allow the export and as you pass 180 applications I can add you to this list. Over the last nine months emoga is off the list, not allowing data export anymore. FourOh is back on the list, allowing data export again There were five (5) new people and one (1) returning person added to the list. Along with one (1) person removed. There has been up to 26 extra applications (Sir Stooper), added to peoples accounts. And quite a few people added more than 10 applications. Which shows how many applications are available out there. You can see how many people have added in my list. So there are applications out there you just have to want them and find them. Some people have improved their badge levels with new stars added. Great to see some first timers on the list, it's good to see how they rank. Onward we march to add even more applications. New members last nine months FourOh (returns to list) John Napoli sorcrosc Daniel 7ri9991 [MM] UBT - Timbo Milestones LCB001 has reached an excellent 24th Star Sphynx has passed 440 apps with a 22nd Lots of position changes. Bok has created a new listing which can help you find apps to run, you have to allow the data export so he can gather information for you. Congratulations to all the people who earned new badges, well done. I do hope I didn't miss anybody, and I do hope I got everyone's names correct, scanning the stats list to find people and going in and counting all their apps does take time (hours). Placing them in this list takes even longer ( more hours). I don't have a lot working at the moment but what I have running I am still working on changing the colours of the stars I have, oh and adding a few more applications where I can. On-wards with the fun. (This data was originally recorded 1 day ago, I updated a couple that were close to getting 100 hours last night and added them today before adding to my listing, so they should be close to up to date.) (Lining up and editing this page to make the data line up so that is readable is a real pain, it has taken an extra 40 minutes to sort the columns out, this HTML stuff is not very good at this sort of thing.) It is 2.30 AM so I am going to bed. Conan |

Your welcome, it takes time but if HTML/BBCode was better at graphing then it would make things a whole lot easier. Most time is taken lining things up so you actually read it. Even transferring a spreadsheet into the post does not work, you still have to edit it. All good fun (except when Windows had a fit and I lost all data and had to do it again, thanks Microsoft), the things we do, eh? Keep smiling it makes others wonder what you have been up to. Conan |

I THINK I finally have an idea how to upgrade my rings and stars and am working on that now, time will tell. |

My final update for a while, because nothing else is anywhere close to being upgradable. Same goes for me. Managed to get my 12th ruby star yesterday for having 24 apps with 1.000 hours but that was it. Don't know what to upgrade next, I'm letting things happen while hunting for some badges (upgrades) on other projects. Life is Science, and Science rules. Question for whomever...currently the max credit for a new badge is 100K per project is there any thought to go above that especially now that the new gpu's are ready to take the next step and increase the rate of crunching by around 20% above what it is right now. Add in the ever increasing climb of cpu speed and processing abilities it's not really that hard to get to 100K anymore. |

Add in the ever increasing climb of cpu speed and processing abilities it's not really that hard to get to 100K anymore. The stars are per app, not per project. That is probably what you meant, but I want to be clear. It doesn't matter how much faster GPUs or CPUs perform. 10 tasks/day or 10,000 tasks/day on any given device, you still get only 24 hours against that app on wuprop. In order to increase that, you could try to running multiple tasks at a time on a GPU, or insuring you have hyper-threading turned on for CPUs. But beyond that, performance doesn't mean anything. Just time and more hardware. In any case, I think it was already asked a long time ago. And the admin said he would not be adding more. Try searching way back in the forum. But I guess it never hurts to ask again. Reno, NV Team: SETI.USA |

Yes that's what I meant to say 'per app' NOT 'per project', thanks for clarifying that. My question has to do with encouraging people to keep crunching on the different apps instead of quitting because they already have the largest badge for that app. For instance you have 6 different 'rings' all with different colored stars on them but some have been stationary for a while now, it would be nice to give you some incentive to change those to newly colored stars for example. |

FWIW, I currently have 107 apps that are over 100,000 hours. If there was a hypothetical star color for 250k, I would have only 7 apps against that new star color. Of those, only 4 are still active. That may be result of me chasing more stars, over maximizing the stars I have. And no reward for going over 100k hours. Or boredom. ;) I just can't stick on one thing for very long in any case. BUT you have to be running WuProp at the same time for it to count right? So it means WuProp gets even more data for it's database. As for stars I would do the same progression up to a Million for the max right now, assuming no one is there yet. I would add 3 stars, 250k, 500k and 1M, but if there is someone over an active Project who has over 1M hours I would redesign it to incorporate both the 1M star and the original star design with a 'dot' in the center of it for the next level. BTW I have 9 projects over 100k hours right now. |
