Anybody getting the Convector v1.12 tenbar4 to Report the Hr's ... ???

I have had tenbar4 showing for a while now, but as I can't get them to run and the project can't tell me why they wont run, I have less than an hour built up.
So at this stage I have stopped trying to run it.

I have a couple of applications in the same situation where they keep failing so I can't get the hours to build up.
I then work on the ones that will run.

Just curious if anyone else is seeing this. What I am getting at is I have done a chunk of WU's for SETI and MW as of recent. BUT, on WUProp when you see the amount of hours on your account for the "star badges" , those two seem to have not budged in a while now, in terms of both pending and run time hours. It found it odd, as other projects, much smaller in popularity and crunching effort, are updating on WUProp account info, nearly hourly.

Majority of WU's in question are SETI@home v7 v7.00 (cuda50) & Milkyway@Home Separation (Modified Fit). My only guess could be due to the age of the type of WU's, and WUProp not seeing them just yet.

I have reported 47 WU's for the World Community Grids Beta - FightAIDS@Home app since yesterday, on several systems, but I have not seen an increase in hours reported at WUProp:

There has been no change recently even though I've returned over 40h of work.
World Community Grid Beta - FightAIDS@Home 224.78 0.00 (09 July 2013 20:45:30)

World Community Grid Beta - FightAIDS@Home 224.78 0.00 (10 July 2013 13:28:46)

Plenty of WUProp WU's returned in that time:

The work has now appeared under a new app,
World Community Grid Beta - FightAIDS@Home - VINA

rather than,

World Community Grid Beta - FightAIDS@Home

While this may be a new app, it is just a test app. For the purposes of the WUProp badge system it might be better to group such project Beta's (FA@H) together; few people will be able to crunch 100h for any test app at WCG due to the restrictions on test WU availability. Other projects may also have limited betas and rename the apps frequently during testing.

In my opinion, all the betas of the World Community Grid project should be merged in a single World Community Grid - Beta WUProp application as it happens in the WCG project.

When you crunch a beta wu in WCG all that work is added to the sub-project Beta, without the distinction of the type of the beta app.

I think that with a single WCG - Beta application, WUProp could be more congruent with WCG, but... it's only my opinion!

I disagree. At WCG, that may be fine for badges, but this project measures how long apps take on various systems, platforms, etc... as well as memory requirements. Those BETA's may come and go or they may last for years, but they are different apps. Otherwise, you should either merge apps from other projects or remove them as they become obsolete. Since most badge hunters will curse you for suggesting degrading badges by removing what they had earned, that would leave the idea of merging abandoned apps. That too would be an unfair representation to your contribution. You didn't earn enough run time to make it count, then that is life.

Message 1364 - Posted: 14 Jul 2013, 17:31:40 UTC - in response to Message 1340.

For this projects badge system, I would rather all Beta apps from the one sub-project were grouped together, as its the same research.
You can use lots of different types of tools to do the exact same research. There really isn't a massive difference between an app version and an app based on a different modeling tool - they basically model the same thing in the same way with the same parameters. The differences tend to be precision, additional features, performance improvement. Modeling parameter changes would be more important in most cases than the modeling tool used. It's also the case that some tools are very flexible and allow you to model in a range of ways, sometimes encompassing other techniques.

If there is a different app for every beta run, things will get ridiculous; after a few years we would have a list of 100's of apps here which didn't even make it to 100h. It's bad enough already. While we might occasionally get 100h or even 250h, getting 500h (21days) worth of WU's for one Beta version would be impossible for some projects (especially on WCG as they now limit the number of beta's you can download on a logical processor count basis). For most people, 208.33days (5000h) would be difficult enough for all WCG betas combined (and would take many years).

That said, FA@H has nothing to do with CEP2...
The happy medium would be to group by research field, but only for badge purposes. The app details could remain as is, though I don't know how much use the stats here actually are when it comes to short beta runs.

I agree that FAAH BETA should be lumped with other FAAH BETA work, but not with SN2S BETA. That is what I was getting at.

Is the WCG Project FightAIDS@Home - AutoDock a separate App ??? If so it's not showing up in my App's ...

It's the same FA@H project facilitated by WCG. They didn't call it FA@H2, so definitely the same project, but as to weather or not it's a different app, that's very debatable. You could argue that it's a new version or a new app.

Vina is short for 'AutoDock Vina' and is basically an update to AutoDock 4. Vina supposedly improves the model accuracy. Though how much might actually depend on the CPU.

At WCG they have two slightly different 'Project Names', though 'Project Name' is probably a loose term and should be called 'Application Name':
    Project Name: FightAIDS@Home - Vina
    Project Name: FightAIDS@Home - AutoDock

The WU Names also look fairly different:

    Name: FAHV_x4I7G_RT_NNRTIadj_0045574_0077
    Name: faah43595_ZINC12728751_xPR_wC6_11_1ref9_00

For the purposes of badges here, I would prefer they were considered as the same project but separate applications (but then I'm biased; I have 5000h+). Certainly other projects have separate apps for less change. It really comes down to whether or not you consider it to be a new version or new application.

What is definitely wrong is that their Beta test versions are considered as two different apps but their full live app versions (both of which are presently in use) are considered as one and the same. The other way round would make a lot more sense.

It is clearly a different application and WCG has stated that the FAAH techs will decide whether to use Auto Dock or Auto Dock Vina based on which target they are on because some targets will find a bigger speed up from one or the other. Therefore, it is helpful for WUProp to keep them separate. And as far as badges go here, it would be consistent to keep them separate. The sub project selection is not the criteria of the badge but rather the apps themselves.

I am all for two separate apps.

I ended up separating the AutoDock and the Vina apps on my own spreadsheets as the Vina runs for significantly shorter time than the AutoDock app and that the cr/time are different.

QMC has a new URL and new life: They have moved from Münster to Ulm (Germany), and have a new dedicated URL: http://qmcathome.org/index.html

Accounts and passwords have moved with them, so no new accounts are necessary for veterans.

Server Status is up, it's delivering WUs, but the Stats-XML page and forums are still empty.

Currently they are showing 4 apps to select from as noted at the Apps Page:
QMC@HOME-qasino-alpha
QMC@HOME-orca-alphabeta
QMC@HOME-orca-engrad-alpha
cleanmobility.now

p.s.: Why to I keep getting the "Your post has been flagged as spam by the Akismet anti-spam system. ??????????

I think GPUGRID's ACEMD Beta app might not be updating.

I have been sitting at 449h for many days:
GPUGRID ACEMD beta version 449.63 0.00

At WUPROP my hosts activity does not show much change in the last week,
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/activity.py?hostid=44207&preselect=week

and none since yesterday,
http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/activity.py?hostid=44207&preselect=day

But at GPUGrid you can see I've run the test app for 13 hours (same system),
http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=139265&offset=0&show_names=0&state=0&appid=21

There have been many different versions of the app over the last few days.

---
Seems to be working now:

GPUGRID ACEMD beta version 454.68 2.25

Thanks,
