I'm still plodding along with only 1 Box getting any Wu's. No matter what I do the other box's don't get any work even if I shut off all the other Projects ...

You may think you have but you are wrong.
Check de details of the hosts 30, 32 and 33 on that site and you will see that it is not enabled.

Well if their not there's nothing I can do about it, the BOIS Say VT Enabled & there's no there setting to set for that ...

Maybe worth checking your cc_config.xml if you have this html tag enabled for
<dont_use_vbox>1</dont_use_vbox>. Change value from 1 to 0.

I've see others have it enabled with a good vbox install have to force BOINC to OK it like that. I don't recall where but cc_config seems like an appropriate location.

PrimeGrid is shutting down following projects:

• October 4^th: (Previously announced) The CPU portion of PPS-Sieve will be shut off.
  
• October 19^th: PPS-MEGA will be turned off. See Edit #1 below.
  
• November 15^th: GFN-15 is very small compared to the computing power of today's computers, and it's no longer eligible for the Top 5000 Primes list.
  
• December 15^th: SGS has succeeded in its goals of finding an SGS pair and a twin pair at n=1290000 and will be shut down. It's possible we may start a new SGS search at a higher n sometime in the future.
  
• January 15^th, or 30 days after CW-Sieve ends, whichever is later: The GPU portion of PPS-Sieve. This sieve has advanced very far ahead of the PPS projects, and the sieving being done today won't be needed for many years. This sieve is being suspended until more work is needed. In the future it is possible that we may sieve a small subset of k's currently being sieved.
  
• March 15^th, or 60 days after CW-Sieve ends, whichever is later: AP27 has achieved its goal of finding an AP27 and will shut down. It's extremely unlikely that we will find an AP 28 with the current hardware and software.

Universe@Home: Universe@Home future

The time has come to inform you about what will happen next with the Universe@Home project.

As you know, Krzysztof Belczy?ski was the initiator and lead scientist of the project - he was the head of our small team. His sudden passing caused a bit of chaos, which we are gradually trying to manage. Unfortunately, the latest changes in the application code that were being implemented also disappeared with him. For this reason, as well as the necessity to introduce changes to the application code that had been planned for some time, we have decided to temporarily suspend the generation of new WUs.

As of today, we already know that Universe@Home will not end - it is being taken under the wing of Prof. Tomasz Bulik (https://nauka-polska.pl/#/profile/scientist?id=23855&lang=en&_k=ta6rhj). Nevertheless, we must ask for your patience; at this moment, the most important thing is to manage the organizational and formal matters and to work on the changes in the code. This should take us two to three months.

I will keep you updated.

Well if they're not, there's nothing I can do about it. The BIOS says "VT Enabled", and there's no setting there to set for that ...

This may have been caused by an infamous Microsoft Windows update (KB5031361 and KB5031222). Check whether there's a fix -or update to their latest and greatest and don't forget to look for optional updates.

From what I understand it is 5,000,000 the k is short hand for thousand.

So you have a Venus badge worth 5 Million points and your next one is Mercury at 25kk or 25 Million points.

All 3 projects seem to have shut done with no notifications as far as I can find, and can't be reached.

Seems surprising for Cosmology and wanless2 to do that after being in the BOINC scene for so long and not thank us volunteers.

LODA had an announcement that they have suspended operations and are evaluating how and where their next development effort will be. No indication if BOINC would be involved.

Cosmology@home has been unattended for awhile and the former Admin "pokes" it every once in awhile. There were a couple of postings of third hand news but basically no direct news. I reached out to the primary researcher about 18 months ago and got a polite response but nothing changed. IMHO not worth wasting electricity on.

Hi, WEP has been down for quite a while so I emailed James to ask about it last night, his final response said...


I do actually have reserve servers all setup and ready to go - some even significantly faster than the old server! However I wanted to stop mainly for two reasons - 1) I’m now in my late fifties, and my wife and I have both been planning retirement preferment this year anyway.
2) I think the algorithm I was using will work significantly better on bigger numbers, and I don’t think I’ve quite got the energy to make a fairly big change to the setup.
I’m probably going to be continuing manually (ie not BOINCified) with my own farm crunching on the Mersenneplustwo numbers tho, as that’s very easy to do…

It’s been a wild ride (at times) for 17 years, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it!!!
