The application Virtual machine with upper limit 16 GB available memory from project prediction is active

Anyone got any ideas what this is about .... ??

Does anyone have the address for tspathome? There is an app "TSP solver with BnB".

Ah. I remember that project. The admin ran the project on his laptop, from his home on some small island in the pacific. His bandwidth was extremely limited.

I see Einstein has finally added native 64 but ARM-Android support as a beta testing app. It is showing up as:
Einstein@Home Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo,GBT).
I'm getting hours but the app name is in red.

From what I gathered in the Einstein forums this app will eventually be replacing the
Einstein@Home Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo) only on the 64 ARM-Android devices.

Shouldn't they actually be counting under the old name because it's using the same data files?

No, they should be counted under the old name simply because it actually is the same application, i.e. einsteinbinary_BRP4, just a new plan_class.

einsteinbinary_BRP4G a.k.a. Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo,GBT,long) and einsteinbinary_BRP4A a.k.a. Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo,GBT,A) also use the same data files, but are different applications from BOINC's point of view (technically they are all the same application, splitted into three BOINC applications for validation reasons). WUProp admin needs however to update the "user friendly name" of the einsteinbinary_BRP4 application, it has been renamed to Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo,GBT) quite a while ago.

By this thinking shouldn't the:
Einstein@Home Multi-Directional Gravitational Wave search on O3 (CPU)
and the
Einstein@Home Multi-Directional Gravitational Wave search on O3 (GPU)

tasks be combined since we were crunching exactly the same data set, just some tasks used the cpu and some tasks the gpu?
NO they should not be, if you use a different device it should b a different application, so the Arecibo, GBT tasks running on ARM devices is not a gpu nor a standard cpu task so it's a new for us application.

WUProp doesn't care what the data set is. Nor can it know. WUProp just goes by the name of the app. The different apps are what's in the blue bar at https://einsteinathome.org/apps.php

if you use a different device it should b a different application,

Not true. Asteroids have 1 single app that runs on all devices.

No, even if it's different executable, it's not a different BOINC application, it's all "einsteinbinary_BRP4" doing the same job no matter on what hardware and OS you run it. Technically even einsteinbinary_BRP4G and einsteinbinary_BRP4A are the same application and at least einsteinbinary_BRP4 and einsteinbinary_BRP4G were using same executables in the past, they moved different device types between those two as needed. BRP4G was originally for GPUs, but they were moved back to BRP4 because of validation issues and x86 CPUs took over BRP4G. BRP4A was created for the same reason for Apple ARM devices, their results were good enough for the science, but not close enough to the other BRP4 results for the validator. I crunched BRP4G with the official BRP4 executable on my Android phone using the anonymous platform without any issues, so definitely the same thing, now, when they are shutting down BRP4G, anyone can use their BRP4G executable to crunch BRP4 if they want to (or even better: there's a optimized one in the forums).

I don't know why they made two different applications out of that, so I can't answer that question. But those in charge decided to have two separate BOINC applications (each with few different executables for different platforms and plan_classes) and that's what WUProp has to follow (like in case of BRP4/BRP4G/BRP4A).

The different apps are what's in the blue bar at https://einsteinathome.org/apps.php
And everything else is <platform>, <plan_class> and eventually <version_num>, but not <app_name>.

Most projects have executables for different platforms for the same BOINC application simply because nothing else makes sense, it's the same input and the same results. Only Gerasim@home does that differently for an unknown to me reason (anyone tried anonymous platform there?) and of course Einstein@home does that partly for BRP4 as explained for validation reasons.

Did anybody receive those new wus for Android? My devices haven‘t got any so far. I also checked „accept beta work“ just to make sure.

By this thinking Link we would only have 1/3rd the apps we have on the list now, don't be a party pooper buddy we want MORE apps not fewer ones. We want MORE Stars and Rings at wuprop not fewer ones!!

And thinking of some of the Projects I wish they would have an different app for every major data change we users crunch on, ie Number Fields has been crunching the exact same app for YEARS, as has Ammicable Numbers. SrBase has gone thru ALOT of different subsets of databases but still keeps the same old app name year in and year out. We will never catch Ste\/e if we don't get more apps!!

that way lies chaos like with Gaia@home

Link is correct imho
it also has the benefit of being how WUProp actually works today ;-)

I couldn't care less. The only reason I crunch for WUProp are the results of this project, which I have used in the past and I think it's a great idea to have a database like that.

Of course it would be eben better, if huge parts of that page were not broken since ages without that anyone bothers to fix it even after receiving bug reports for example in the science section of this forum. The results from my GPU crunching Einstein's O3 also do not seem to make it into the results table (my iGPU gets them done in around 90 minutes, not 431) and considering the amount of results for Data collect version 5 returned in the past 24 hours, I strongly doubt, that my Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is the only ARM device, that returns some kind of data to WUProp.
