You could have come here BEFORE you opened the server to make this announcement.

That development server has existed for years. Possibly longer than WUProp has existed.

I ran the dev.primegrid.com project in good faith knowing nothing about it being fake work. I just figured it to be a development project & didn't care about the credit's as I have on other projects & so I thought I was helping primegrid out. I don't have time to read every post made about a project & just run them as they come up ...

1. We crunchers do our crunching VOLUNTARILY and FOR FUN!!! I should't have to say anything more to for you to see how out of place and misguided your accusations of anything fake are. However, I can continue.

2. If a distributed computing project is open to public, it is the responsibility of the PROJECT OWNER - if it is open to public, crunchers will come. If you don't want too many of them, award low or no credit. If you don't want crunchers, don't open the project to public.

3. What project does, how fake or real it is, is the responsibility of the PROJECT OWNER. I have no clue what I crunch in any of the projects and it is not my responsibility to know.

4. What I know for sure is that my crunching time is VERY REAL. IF everything else is fake, if your project is fake, if the work units are fake, or even if you are a fake admininstrator, I cannot know. It is your responsibility.

5. Therefore stop accusing us crunchers of anything. We have crunched your project in good faith, our crunching hours are real and if anything, it is not us crunchers who should apologize for wasting electricity and causing unnecessary global warming.

And you just seriously shot yourself in the foot. I will NEVER donate my time and resources to run another PG project ever, which I'm sure you don't care. IMHO you're the one who should be ashamed.

And on another note if so worried about MMGW you should completely shut down PG. Just another hypocrite. ::cough::

That's funny, I'm a bit surprised to be on a (test)project which I didn't heard of yet like this. :-)
But because you are mentioning LHC dev and as far as I see on the active projects list of WUProp the ATLAS sim app from vLHCathome-dev is missing, while it is active here on the project, I guess it's just the same project, but maybe the project name entry is wrong.
Also, the ATLAS sim app entry for vLHCathome-dev in my account is still red - so it would count as a new app de facto. If I could start a WU (unfortunately there don't seem to be some available), I would get a new entry then... damn. ;-D
