Message 7850 - Posted: 9 Feb 2021, 14:01:06 UTC - in response to Message 7849.

my assumption is that it is caused by clients connecting to different URLs
see https://trello.com/c/bYvHd8Oc/36-sort-out-vdwnumbersorg-vs-vdwnumbersorg-vdwnumbers
so they should be merged

hmm, it's actually a bug in the xml coming from here.

But I should be able to code around it.

For Van Der Waerden, it sometimes has a space before the closing tag and sometimes does not

<project>vdwnumbers.org: Van Der Waerden Numbers </project>

<project>vdwnumbers.org: Van Der Waerden Numbers</project>

I'll make a fix today

From PrimeGrid message boards:

Note: the end of the project is approaching! Consider this an approximate 30 day notice for the end of the project.

WCG have released a few small batches for a Beta run for their OPN GPU app, supposedly more coming.

Wonder if these will be counted towards the regular WCG beta app or counted as a new separate GPU app.

The ones I got looked to be too short for WU_Prop to register (all of mine were of the cpu size and not gpu size). As for the actual app I hope it is one that I can eventually get 100 hour in.

Yup me too but 100 hours is a LONG way off as I have 1.15 hours total.

I have opted into Beta on their home page menu and then renabled COVID-19 apps (finished my 100k hour purple COVID-19 star, YEAH!) in a profile for Work and turned on GPU's and turned off CPU's in that Work Profile and finally set it to 250 rss share and set my 1090t GPU hosting machine to the Work profile then
updated.

But still not seeing even one of the beta WU's.

The message is "no tasks are available for COVID-19" so hopefully it's just down to luck and no more configuration errors.

Just habit to try and get tasks but GPU tasks are CPU limited so probably need 500+ tasks to get to 100 hours when there are only 800 visible.... not getting my hopes up.

ATLAS (long simulation) (native_mt)

Thanks for the heads up.

Lawrence posted that the WU are actually short runs for native only and are only available for testing on LHC-dev for now (you can choose the WU in LHC@Home preferences but no app will d/l). Longer runs maybe tomorrow.

My native box drive crashed.
My BOINCix (AntiX micro Linux VM for BOINC) project is running vdwnumbers and Gaia but fails to get a HITS file running native LHC@Home WU's. I'll try and get it working tomorrow if I can find the time.

ATLAS very long simulation (native_mt)

Damn, not possible to run this for me, only Linux and with VB. One less app in my list... :-( ;-)

ATLAS (long simulation) (native_mt)

Hm, this one isn't even deployed yet, but I guess it will be the same...

only Linux and with VB

Without VB
It is currently native linux-only and a minimum of 4 CPUs is required.

Of course, you can use a VirtualBox to run a native Linux under Windows. ;)
But the VM needs >4G of memory :(
Plus some additional OS preparation - cvmfs, singularity, squashfs-tools, ...

Can you install linux as a subsystem on windows. Very simple to do...

Yup, basically have to do the things that the VB image has setup but it allows for lower memory usage.

I haven't seen any tasks available at LHC or LHC-dev. Hopefully my native setup still works.
