Thank you for running the project for this long! It's been really useful to me in deciding which projects I'll run and for how long. I've specifically picked projects up just so I could get those sweet badges! :D I hope someone else is able to run it, but I know it's going to be hard to replace all the hard work you've put into all the features and goodies unique to the project. |

WUProp was the projct that made running BOINC so much fun. I loved coming up with solutions for my limited resources to reach hour goals all the while attaining my project goals. Thank you, Sebastien, for letting me play. |

I'm really sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to FINALLY crawling past the 500K milestone after many years running on my few computers. But if you don't have time to manage the project, then you should focus on things that matter most to you. Any chance of passing the site/project management along to someone else who is able to continue running it? |

Work generators are off and there are no more v4 tasks available. A sad day indeed. |

I have no time to manage correctly the project. WTF??? Only one day gone and this is going to happen... These are very sad days these times, and now this. As other users already mentioned it was one of the reasons for me too to still doing BOINC, crunching for statistics and badges aside of doing it for science. It is a BIG loss to not have personal statistics anymore in the future and it will indeed change the way I do projects also. I guess it will be even harder to get news about NEW projects now... :-( Nevertheless, thanks for doing all the great stuff all over the years Sebastien, wish you the best. Maybe you really can find someone who runs the project a bit longer... Life is Science, and Science rules. To the universe and beyond Member of BOINC@Heidelberg My BOINC-Stats |

Sebastien I have also had fun chasing the different badges and trying to also get enough credits at all the brand new Boinc Projects you have posted about that I otherwise would have had zero clue about!! One thing you didn't know is that my Team also got the new Projects and new Apps notices on their FaceBook page, it's private, because I posted them there, meaning those Projects got even bigger exposure than just those of us here. Thank you Sebastien and I also hope you can find a way to have someone else take things over from you. mikey |

Thank you as well and sorry to see this project go. Maybe it can be transferred to new operatorship and continue to provide its great benefit to the BOINC community. |

This project was not only useful for helping bring attention to new projects, but also helpful for crunchers to verify their runtimes were in line with others on similar hardware. Thank you for providing this service to both projects and crunchers! Please consider continuing this functionality by accepting some of the generous offers in these posts. Thanks again! |

Really sorry to hear this. Thanks for the service you provided for so long. Chasing stars made this more interesting, and kept me looking for new things to run. Hopefully the community can find a way to keep it going. |

Such a shame I was hopeful to at least reach maybe the 250,000 credit mark, but alas, it looks like this will not happen. Would be wonderful, if Sebastien allowed someone else to take over as admin...as many who have already replied to this topic feel bad that it is going to close. Maybe, just maybe someone can assist? If not, then thank you for your time in creating and administering this project. regards Tim |

I read some users could keep alive the project. What are the requirements : - a server with 16GB RAM and SSD disks (100GB) - someone which knows how to manage a server running apache and MySQL/MariaDB - someone which can spend an half hour each day to check and validate new projects, applications, gpu, cpu and android devices. - someone which can code new versions. There is a problem with BOINC 7.18.1 on Android devices. Transfering WUProp on an other server will be difficult : - Some data as email addresses are private. I can't transfer them to someone without user acceptance. Only hours could be transfered. Users should register on the new server. - I made some specific developpements to customize project. It will be difficult to transfer these specifics developpements. As anybody, I'm sad to stop WUProp. For me, it'a a fail. So, in a first time, I can re-enable the project with some users which will help me to manage the project (Mainly checking and validating new projects, applications, gpu, cpu and android devices. And perhaps coding a new version for android devices)[/list] |

Sorry to hear this, the Project a(s about the only) reason I'm still running BOINC ... And to me, too :-(((( In the past, much has been geared towards getting an appropriate WUProp badge. Would it be an option to let the project continue unattended ? Unfortunately I lack the knowledge and also the time to be able to help there. But I would find it great if the project can continue. I read some users could keep alive the project. I can make this happen, but it will take me a little while to get something built to those specs.
I've got some experience running MySQL and Apache on Linux. - someone which can spend an half hour each day to check and validate new projects, applications, gpu, cpu and android devices. This is the key. Half an hour every day is something I may not be able to due, as I work out of town a lot and sometimes end up in places with limited or no Internet connectivity.
I do not know how to code/program.
I am not sure how to handle this. Perhaps something could be done that if the user can export their data from the server here and upload/import the data into a new server. This provided you can leave the site functional for users to be able to do this as this could take some time. Not everyone will know of this.
Could an entire clone of your setup not be transferred to another server; but leave out the user accounts and let the users somehow export them from here and import them to a new server?
I can volunteer to check in on this from time to time to help alleviate the load of one person doing this. |
