These tasks used to come thru as pure Mac's but have been changed, I think, to just Period Search Application tasks now:

Asteroids@home fma_macos_1014 7,556.37

If you look here you can see all the Mac apps:
https://stats6.free-dc.org/apps Searching doesn't work as you have to look under 'short' to find the different types of apps for Arm devices, Mac's etc you have to get thru the Windows x86 stuff then the x86-Apple-Darwin stuff comes up

I don't know why it isn't working unless your OS is too old, there is a minimum but I think it's pretty old. I have a Mac laptop running wuprop right now.

Your MacBook has M3 CPU, i.e. ARM. WUProp does not have an application for Mac OS running on ARM, only for "Intel 64-bit Mac OS 10.5 or later". Check if your Mac has Apple's x86 emulation and if BOINC sees it and reports to the servers (it should be than included in sched_request_wuprop.boinc-af.org.xml between <alt_platform> and </alt_platform>. If it's missing, you won't get any WUs from WUProp.

Well, it can still do real scientific work for other projects, even if not many projects have applications for Mac OS on ARM. If you bought it just for crunching, a Windows or Linux PC for 25% of that price might indeed have been a better choice.

Well if it's not getting WuProp hours it's of no use to me, it's the only reason I run BOINC anymore, if not for Wuprop I would just drop out of BOINC as I have nothing left I want to achieve anymore ...

Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo,GBT,A) (BRP4A)
That is the only app on Mac/ARM and not available on anything else.

Your BOINC apps with less than 10k WUProp hours
https://stats6.free-dc.org/newapps/736/10000

Looks like a Linux GPU app at GPUGrid and a RPi App at SiDOck are also missing.

Thanks, the Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo,GBT,A) (BRP4A) App was the reason I bought the Mac to begin with, didn't know I needed a specific OS to get Wuprop Wu's. The RPi App at SiDOck app you need some special OS for that which I don't have & the GPU Grid Linux GPU app I'm running GPU Grid on 1 Linux Box but guess I've never gotten whatever the app is I'm missing ...

I can't find a Mac Laptop with at least a 10.5 OS, most of the older ones have older OS than that or just don't specify what exact OS they have ...

Amazon is allowing me to return the Mac, I'm just waiting for the shipping label from the company it was purchased from. I buy enough stuff from Amazon so they don't ever give me any lip about returning stuff, not that I return that much anyway ...

Just any Linux OS at SiDock. I just use the standard Raspian that came with the RPI SD Cards. Some extra commands are required I believe bot no special OS.

GPUGrid has had the Quantum chemistry app readily available for months now. Most of the time its the only work they have.

I have every box checked at GPU Grid & all I get is the ACEMD 3 Wu's ... Maybe I don't have a fast enough GPU for the Quantum Wu ? I have a bid in at eBay for a 4080 NVIDIA Super Card if that isn't enough card then ppffftttt for the Quantum's ... The extra commands at sidock I don't know ...

If its the K5000 you have listed here, that's not enough VMEM for it so that'd be why you're not getting any tasks.

I ordered a couple ASUS Dual Fan NVIDIA 4070's, they looked like a good price point for the performance they give, the 4080's are almost double the price. I'm not even sure if they will work with the motherboards I have but if they don't I'll gut them & build 2 new Box's so I can use the cards ...

You aren't gaming, I don't think, so you don't need the fastest pci-e connections for the 4070's to work with the motherboard, the question will be the power supply and does it have enough plugs for you.

The NVIDIA 4070 takes a 10 Pin Connector, they sent a 2 8 pin into 1 10 pin adapter with the card.

I checked my spare parts & do have some other adapters so I'll muck something together. The Linux box I have doesn't have squat for connectors so I'll probably have to just run a separate power supply outside the box on that one. I see I have a 1000 watt power supply as a spare so I'll use that on the Linux Box.

If one power supply has enough power (and won't run close to the limit), better use just one. If it's just missing the right connectors, simply cut off some unused molex connectors and connect the adapters that came with the cards with some standard electic connectors (WAGO or luster clamps). Even just pushing the cables from the adapters into the molex connectors without removing it might work, depending on how thick the cables are. That's how my current PSU had a 2nd 6-pin PCI-E connector while it was powering my now retired GTX 275, when upgrading my system, I simply pulled them out and the PSU has still all the connectors it came with.

Well guess I messed up again, I picked up a M1 Max Pro about a month ago & just got around to installing BOINC on it but the WuProp Project still won't send it any Wu's so I don't know what to do now. Guess I'll keep it & maybe someday Prop Project will send it work Unit's, until then it'll just take up space in the garage ... lol

This PC is working

Top hours user for the Einstein Apple only app. Besides having not run benchmarking, the OS and BOINC version are the same.
