JFC, 7.22.2 is not that old. That is newer than anything I have. The BOINC version is not the issue. A validate error at WUProp is more likely to be no valid work being done on that client. |

Thanks for the fix. The tasks are fine. I don't speak English, thank you the Firefox Translation plugin. |

I see the required disk space has been adjusted to some more reasonable value, but that does not really change anything as long as the server thinks there's not one single byte available to BOINC: Yeah, does seem like some sort of issue somewhere. Getting the same issue on one of my mini crunchers recently https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/forum_thread.php?id=692 A 1GB volume using with over 900MB free should be enough for BOINC. However, I did some testing increasing the volume that BOINC was using. Once I increased it to a point that the host "Free Disk Space" no longer had a leading zero, e.g. "Free Disk Space 0.9 GB", I then stopped getting the message about having 0.00 MB available. It looks like the new server code does not care for hosts with volumes smaller than 1GB. I did some testing and set up a 500MB volume on another host and had it only connect to WUProp. I would hope that 456MB free would be enough for WUProp :D With BOINC client 7.22.2 I got the "You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 9.54 MB" message. So I gave BOINC client 8.0.2 a try and the requests get the same server response. 2024-08-23 08:39:00 PM WUProp@Home Message from server: Data collect version 4 needs 9.54MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 9.54 MB. Is there any other troubleshooting that we can do here or does this seem like an issue that should be raised with the BOINC devs? The reason I use small ram drive volume for BOINC now is to reduce the amount of SSD writes. I had some hosts running BOINC reduce their SSD life by 8-10% after about month of crunching! |

I noticed I can't 'message' anyone any more, even my 'friends'...is that by design or a missed thing in the upgrade? I CAN message people I have messaged before but ie if I click on Sebastians name I can't private message him because I never have before so he's not on my list of past conversations. mikey |
