BOINC is also getting time out error message trying to connect to project website - over 3 minutes with no response from server. This is across most of my desktop PC's.Have not seen that on my Android devices as of now. Had previously tried rebooting the gateway/router and each individual PC to see if that would resolve the time out. Did a tracert directly from router and there appears to be connecting issues at trace points 12 & 17: traceroute to wuprop.boinc-af.org (51.178.133.229), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets 2 71.155.112.116 (71.155.112.116) 18.223 ms 18.209 ms 18.013 ms |

This is across most of my desktop PC's.Have not seen that on my Android devices as of now. I did the same thing and got this: Tracing route to rise3.statseb.fr [51.178.133.229] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 16 ms 11 ms 12 ms * 2 42 ms 6 ms 5 ms * 3 9 ms 7 ms 7 ms * 4 5 ms 5 ms 5 ms * 5 6 ms 5 ms 4 ms * 6 5 ms 5 ms 4 ms * 7 22 ms 19 ms 18 ms 216-99-127-17.atmc.net [216.99.127.17] 8 13 ms 12 ms 12 ms 216-99-125-37.atmc.net [216.99.125.37] 9 18 ms 17 ms 17 ms 165.166.76.221 10 25 ms 25 ms 23 ms 165.166.24.18 11 39 ms 41 ms 39 ms eqx.ash.ovh.net [206.126.236.184] 12 * * * Request timed out. 13 * * * Request timed out. 14 * * * Request timed out. 15 * * * Request timed out. 16 118 ms 115 ms 114 ms be102.rbx-g2-nc5.fr.eu [94.23.122.214] 17 * * * Request timed out. 18 * * * Request timed out. 19 * * * Request timed out. 20 * * * Request timed out. 21 122 ms 122 ms 120 ms rise3.statseb.fr [51.178.133.229] Trace complete. I also live in the US and it seems trying to get to the eu hop takes a LONG time as does the hop to get to the actual wuprop server. The first 6 hops were getting out of my home/neighborhood etc to my internet provider. Although I AM getting wuprop tasks they are slow in getting here after I complete a task. |

Now I have problem accessing my /home.php -page, everywhere else I did check I did have access. In https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/server_status.php there is message set_cached_data(): can't open ../cache/f2/server_status.php_job_status Something wrong with boinc server cache / hardware? EDIT: no problem posting above message |

Yesterday, an user attached over 10,000 hosts whose BOINC client is faulty. These hosts were requesting tasks every 10 seconds. At times, the scheduler was overloaded and could not respond to legitimate requests. |

Goofy NCI stats were added to Free-DC so I'm sure more were grabbing some WUProp hours too. Anon and no credit here. Just a couple of these. At least between these ranges https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/show_host_detail.php?hostid=303831 https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/show_host_detail.php?hostid=317828 I see a lot of these also at Goofy NCI made at the same time. |

HAPPENING AGAIN... on host 99259 Do you have manual DNS settings or are you using the default settings? I use Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 (Unencrypted) 1.0.0.1 (Unencrypted) and when I tried using my ISP's instead it was dramatically slower. Using Cloudflare is like using Google but Cloudflare faster according to the tech sites. |

I have set and use OPENDNS.COM free version at the gateway/router instead of my Internet providers DNS. It allows me to block many specific categories of websites and add my own list of additional websites or IP address to block or allow. Edit to add: Thanks Seb for your earlier response, have not had any issues in a bit over 24 hours now. |

Ahh that sounds better than what i have but I can't do what you do because I rent my router, mandatory for my ISP, and can't make any changes to it at all. I used to run my own router but they went 'streaming' only and if you don't use their router then the fiber optic won't work according to them. I haven't bought the fiber optic to cat 6 cable adapter to see but I have the feeling it WOULD work if I did. |

I've never gotten this before and no idea how to fix it. This started yesterday. I tried resetting WUProp but it continued. I tried detaching my Rig-44 computer from WUProp. I searched and could not find any WUProp files or the text WUProp in any BOINC file. I attached and it continues: Computer: Local machine 1018 WUProp@Home Sep 07, 2024, 06:28:17 AM Project requested delay of 86400 seconds 1017 WUProp@Home Sep 07, 2024, 06:28:17 AM Not accepting requests from this host 1016 WUProp@Home Sep 07, 2024, 06:28:17 AM Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 1015 WUProp@Home Sep 07, 2024, 06:28:16 AM Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU 1014 WUProp@Home Sep 07, 2024, 06:28:16 AM Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 1013 WUProp@Home Sep 07, 2024, 06:28:12 AM update requested by user https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/show_host_detail.php?hostid=247050 |

Your host has been banished for 24 hours because it returned 6 consecutive invalid results. |

Your host has been banished for 24 hours because it returned 6 consecutive invalid results. Oh. Not sure how an Invalid result was made. I've noticed that when I suspend all BOINC WUs because Peak Rate TOU is beginning that if WUProp WU completes without another WU running it cannot report and hangs. It resumes 6+ hours later when I restart. |

You should suspend the WUprop WU together with all other WUs, than the issue won't occur. |

Your host has been banished for 24 hours because it returned 6 consecutive invalid results. Wuprop only counts if another task is running that's probably why the invalids, so do what Link said from now on. |

It resumes 6+ hours later when I restart. I assume WUProp expects its WU to be returned every hour. So if no other WUs are running it counts it as an invalid for 6 hours and then it bans that computer for 24 hours. I can't find any way to know when the 24 hour ban ends. Does anyone know? Triggering the ban at 24 hours would be much more user friendly, even 12 hours would be a major improvement. |

An host will be banned if it returns 6 consecutive invalid results within 24 previous hours. An invalid result is a result which reports no data from other projects. Workunits will not be returned if no projects except WUProp run on a host. I added the information for ban finish date in the host detail page : https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/show_host_detail.php?hostid=317828 |

Half of my computers are now banned since a project stopped generating work in the night. In this era of dwindling work it's getting harder all the time to keep them working. Be nice if you made this banning more user-friendly. |
