Still pushing those limits zombie, you're still off the chart on the hours graph, amazing effort. Conan |

Well new Windows app's are scarce but while waiting I have been able to bump 3 Star colors up one notch. Gaia is Linux only and on DENIS I already have 652 hours on the new app. You have that 24 core Windows system it could run the YAFU YAFU-16t app. Thanks Bill |

A 2nd hard drive in your machine would solve that problem for you.[/quote] You have that 24 core Windows system it could run the YAFU YAFU-16t app. Hey that's a great idea, I never even thought of it that way!! mikey |

Running a Linux VM under Windows is a much simpler and more convenient way of solving that problem since you can have Windows and Linux running simultaneously. That's what I do for Linux apps. Chances are you've already got VBox installed on your computer courtesy of BOINC. It's capable of running normal VMs that you set up as well as the BOINC VMs. Want to find one of the largest known primes? Try PrimeGrid. Or help cure disease at WCG. |

you don't even need VBOX these days when you can just add Window subsystem for Linux https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install |

I reduced any new tasks to 7 cpu cores so we will see if I actually get any more or if I have to set it back to unlimited again. |

I think I followed some other guide when I did it but try this https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-ubuntu-on-wsl2-on-windows-10#1-overview boinctui for a bit of a visual aid in terminal https://dc.sheridon.de/how-to-control-boinc-on-command-line-with-boinctui |

I think I followed some other guide when I did it but try this Does it have to be Ubuntu or can it be an offshoot like Linux Mint? I like Linux Mint as it's easy to use and seems smaller than the full Ubuntu. |

There are some others, the lists I saw didn't mention Mint though. It installed quicker in W10 than natively. |

My 5th star has turned BLUE >>>> I have finally reached the original highest goal for this project of 5 BLUE STARS, 100 Applications of 5,000 HOURS each. It has taken a very long time and I thought I would never get there. (I am about the 82nd person to reach this goal, better late than never) Slowly changing a colour every now and then, but it does take time. Conan |

My 5th star has turned BLUE Congrats Conan ! And yes, it does take time to change the colors of the stars, especially the higher ranks (looking over my spreadsheet with apps and hours, fixing goals...) |
