Is Bok is black-listing Parlea just like Willy at BOINCStats is doing... All because it is a "Russian project?"

(This is way off-topic and so I expect deletion. This opinion was just bottled up on me since March).

Wars tend to do that, yes it's off topic but civil discourse by non-combatants, if kept civil, can be productive for ones mental health and general well being.

Personally I think every Boinc Project should be listed in the Stats sites as long as they are providing the stats, regardless of where they are. Yes I know a few have requested to not be included, can't they just not provide the stats for the stats sites to download though?

I crunch for this site that you don't and you crunch for that site that I don't, should it make any difference to the stats site personally I don't think so but do know that when human emotions come into the process things don't always make sense to everyone.

Will boycotting a project because the people there happen to have been born in a country whose leaders are behaving badly make the world a better place?

Probably not, but it might make you feel better because you're "doing something". It's very frustrating to see injustice and be powerless to set it right.

Conversely, will playing nice with those same people make the world a better place? Probably not today, but someday things will get back to normal, or at least more normal than they are now. When and if that time comes, having good relations with people who might be seen today as the "enemy" but are as blameless as you or I might be a good thing.

It should be noted that even today Russia and the US continue to cooperate in operating the International Space Station. Both sides not only see it as mutually beneficial, but also it's one GOOD thing that's happening in that relationship. That good will has always been thought of as a good thing in itself that can help thaw otherwise frosty relations. (Yes, I know Russia is threatening to pull out of the ISS, but they always do that, and it's an empty threat. That would leave them in a far worse position than they are now, and in a far worse position than the US.)

A good reason not to add them is the fact, that they even not write on their homepage who they actually are, no info on people or organzation.

The translation of the describtion is "distributed computing test project that aims to investigate the efficiency and behavior of mobile devices as computing nodes on the BOINC platform for solving the orthogonal diagonal Latin squares (ODLS) search problem" and states Android 4.1 as requirement, but they have only an application for Windows PCs. So what they are doing actually? No forums to ask anything either.

So no idea why someone would let a project like that use their computer ressources or even just enter his email adress on their page as currently the project isn't trustworthy at all. This concerns are IMHO by far more important than the project's TLD.

Speaking of Parlea; they seem to perform their development work on weekends and they just sent down a boinc2docker app version 2.6, instead of the GTCL cycle WU's. IIRC, that version only works reliably on VBox 5.2.x or earlier. Even so, the machine that got them is on VBox 5.1.26 and the WU isn't using any CPU for 10 mins then ending. Lack of communication with the server for a data set is what I remember was that issue.
Their GTCL cycles seem to need to call back to the server before actually doing work as seen by the many failures in 35 seconds while using the network.

I am 100 hours from getting the pink 10k star on that GTCL WU and the 12 left running don't seem able to get 100 more hours. With growing disappointment, I watched 30+ of them fail in 30-45 seconds in a row.

At least it's not a sub-100 hour failure.

I'm running Win 11 Home and VBOX 7.04 and the new Parlea boinc2docker tasks are using all available cpu cores, 8 in my case, and running for a couple of minutes before finishing at 100% and being sent back to get another task of which there are none being sent out right now. There are over 109K tasks to send out but my account page has alot of errors saying it can't load different things on it and Boinc is saying 'no tasks available'.

Probably the old application. The only one listed now is the VBox version that has none available.
