Message 10831 - Posted: 12 Aug 2024, 16:51:01 UTC

Is there away to get back to the previous user page format with the project listing in a column on the right side? I like this as it was a better (more compact use of space) and I didn't need to do any scrolling to see the various things I needed.

Also with the update clicking on the "last day (hours)" sort it now sorts from low to high rather than high to low with the first click. Low, being 0 hour activity, is not as important as actual activity....

Message 10832 - Posted: 12 Aug 2024, 17:20:12 UTC - in response to Message 10828.

The way the application hours are displayed in my account has changed.

Also the check box option to hide inactive applications does not work.

Fixed

Message 10833 - Posted: 12 Aug 2024, 17:22:34 UTC - in response to Message 10827.

I see the required disk space has been adjusted to some more reasonable value, but that does not really change anything as long as the server thinks there's not one single byte available to BOINC:

12/08/2024 09:36:27 | WUProp@Home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
12/08/2024 09:36:27 | WUProp@Home | Requesting new tasks for CPU
12/08/2024 09:36:29 | WUProp@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
12/08/2024 09:36:29 | WUProp@Home | No tasks sent
12/08/2024 09:36:29 | WUProp@Home | Message from server: Data collect version 4 needs 9.54MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 9.54 MB.

There's clearly some bug in there, even on the host's details page the available space is displayed correctly and obviously way above the required 9.54 MB.

I enabled debug log on BOINC server.
I'm waiting the next request to check what's wrong.

No, it's not possible to get back to previous user page.

I fixed the sort order for the "last day (hours) column.

Thanks for bringing the server backup ahead of schedule. Now I need to remember that the forum link is at the top for this project like others.

Enabled work for WUprop again, so you should have the log now.

1) How much storage space does this device have in total?
Around 420 MB.

2) How much storage space does BOINC report in use when it starts?
It reports now, when running one Einstein's BRP4G WU:

Used by BOINC: 27.29 MB
Used by other programs: 113.66 MB
Free, available to BOINC: 279.04 MB

So 9.54 MB should not be an issue and until now even the 95.37 MB were never an issue.

3) Any way to increase the max disk usage to something larger to see if WuProp will run?
No, it's an ancient Android phone (Sony Xperia Ray).

Are you sure you have free disk space ?
Below an extract of the scheduler request received from your host.
<host>
    <id>0</id>
    <rpc_time>0</rpc_time>
    <timezone>7200</timezone>
    <d_total>440401920.000000000000000</d_total>
    <d_free>292577280.000000000000000</d_free>
    <d_boinc_used_total>28622557.000000000000000</d_boinc_used_total>
    <d_boinc_used_project>0.000000000000000</d_boinc_used_project>
    <d_boinc_max>0.000000000000000</d_boinc_max>

As you can see, your client report there is no space available for boinc (d_boinc_max tag)

i much prefer the page layout before the latest change - side by side is a pain on a portrait monitor - very hard to use
still looks ok on a phone - is there anyway we can choose by a preference?

Hmm... is it possible, that this old client (no, I can't update it) simply does not include <d_boinc_max>?

This it the most recent sched_request_wuprop.boinc-af.org.xml (some tags censored with ######), there's no <d_boinc_max> in it, the other tags are correct:

Server scheduler converts d_project_share in d_boinc_max
Hmm... this is what the device sent last time to Einstein:

<disk_usage>
        <d_boinc_used_total>42951203.000000</d_boinc_used_total>
        <d_boinc_used_project>38847429.000000</d_boinc_used_project>
        <d_project_share>38847429.000000</d_project_share>
</disk_usage>

So basically it has sent same values for d_boinc_used_project and d_project_share. For WUprop it's 0 since I used the lack of work from WUprop to switch from http to https.

d_boinc_used_project and d_project_share should be different

Can you try to update the BOINC client ?

Unfortunately no, this is a very old Android phone released 2011 running Android 4.0.4. BOINC disappeared from the Play Store many years ago, no idea which version was the last that supported Android 4.0, the current requires 4.1. It's running NativeBOINC as that allows remote access unlike the official client, but that has been also discontinued long time ago, so no updates for that either (and they would likely not work with such old OS anyway). I'll investigate more tomorrow.

Question: do you see somewhere easily on the server what's the oldest BOINC version for Android, which successfully runs WUprop? Or at least if there are any tasks in progress for the "Android running on an ARM CPU (arm)" application and on what they are running? All the "android_arm_pie" won't run here as this device does not support PIE. I had once BOINC 7.4.14 running on this phone, but than switched to NativeBOINC as that supported remote login from my desktop PC and many other standard BOINC things, which were missing in the official Android client (IIRC it didn't even have a WU cache).

You are the only one to calculate with the "Android running on an ARM CPU (arm)" application.
So I added one exception for this app : available disk space will not be checked.

Hi, since last week, one of the computers https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results.php?hostid=143534 is reporting invalid results to me. I didn't do anything with the PC. Tried restarting wuprop with no change. Also removing and adding again didn't help. My other PCs are fine.
