I have one windows and four linux computers running where I didn't need to change anything. They are still running fine. Oh well, a raspberry too. Additionally I have six Androids (with Android 5.0 and 6.0) that run fine, too. There was no need to make any changes. And I have seven Androids (with Android 4.2/4.4) that don't run wuprop because of the problems. Three of them are rooted so I could eventually make changes manually. On the other four I have no chance to make changes. On these androids I'm loosing 3,552 hours in my wuprop-statistics every day. What is the official solution for the connection problems? |

I attached back to the http address and it worked and downloaded the exe file, but hangs on the input file as the link to that is https. I did it with *.* for the filter. Just in case there were any address references in other files. There may have been some things in the slot folders that were found, but that would be resolved when the next task starts. |

Ok, so I had the communications problem, I thought it was related to the change from http to https, so removed the project to I can start fresh with the https address. Well that didn't work and now I am out completely as neither http nor https address works. [I should have read further for the other solutions people suggested.] It would be nice to get things running again so my efforts on other boinc projects are recorded. |

You need to upgrade to the latest BOINC version. Shut down BOINC. Install new version over the top (should do that by default). REBOOT! Don't skip this stage. And away you go. You might not need to detach and reattach the project. If you do add the project again it takes ages (like 15 minutes) to actually connect again, so don't panic. Took me ages to figure this out, it's a pity there isn't a sticky or a project announcement about it :( |

Before anyone says "You should be running the latest version anyway", that doesn't happen in reality. Looks like a lot of computers are still out of action judging by the drop, and sustained slump, in daily points added. Looks like a sustained 19% drop in points since the change. Nice one. |

I have one windows and four linux computers running where I didn't need to change anything. They are still running fine. Oh well, a raspberry too. Did you use the the Berkeley application or NativeBOINC? |

On Android 4.x NativeBoinc as the Bercley Client doesn't allow remote access, cc_config.xml and name setting and doesn't run well. Lots of invalids on projects while on nativeboinc I see zero invalids. Edit: I checked my nativeboinc androids and 4 out of 7 are ok again. Only 3 still have the issue. Didn't make any changes |

Since this HTTP/HTTPS farce started lots of hours have been lost to the records due to most people not knowing it was going to happen and their computers not running the correct software. After sorting out how to get two Windows XP computers on BOINC 6.12.43 running again with the help in this thread, I still have a problem. After WUProp started working again World Community Grid stopped uploading work complaining of a Peer Certificate issue and the project servers being down, I aborted one upload but the next work unit has the same problem. Then Einstein stopped uploading and complained of the same Peer certificate issue and server issue. I have the latest CA-Certificate Bundle downloaded but this seems not to be the solution. Does anyone know what the answer may be? I left messages on WCG and Einstein but no one has answered. Conan |

All androids are running fine again. Whatever may have caused the trouble has vanished. |

We are now being asked to go back to the non-secure (http rather than https) version of the project: WUProp@Home: Notice from BOINC This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/ 12/03/2017 11:39:44 Getting this on my W10 and Ubuntu 16.04 systems. |

We are now being asked to go back to the non-secure (http rather than https) version of the project: Jesus fricking Christ, I just got them all switched now I have to go back to what they were before, make up their minds will they, I lose a lot of Hr's switching back & forth at their whim ... Unless I stop getting Wu's from the Project I'm leaving it a https: I always got Wu's from the http: URL even though I was getting the wrong URL Message ... |

URL https://wuprop.boinc-af.org and http://wuprop.boinc-af.org are valid. Thanks Sebastien, just have to ignore the wrong URL Message then ... |

Will it stop notifying us to change back to the old URL if both are valid? This is pretty annoying. boincstats is telling my computers to use https |

BAM! Updated and now we are getting this> WUProp@Home: Notice from BOINC This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/ 3/12/2017 09:58:21 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WUProp@Home: Notice from BOINC This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/ 3/12/2017 05:23:30 Only so you know. Crunching@EVGA The Number One Team in the BOINC Community. To be honest: Using notepad or whatsoever is not a solution. It is a dirty workaround. Anything regarding project urls should be working with either resetting a project or using detach and reattach. |

Somewhat off-topic, but this also changed in the sched_reply xml: <next_rpc_delay>600.000000</next_rpc_delay> It used to be 3600.000000. Do you really want the clients contacting the server every 10 minutes? |

This is special... got up this morning and checked stats. Hours looked WAY low for overnight. BoincStats BAM had detached all my hosts from WUProp! Without reattaching! Just ran around removing BAM from all hosts and manually reattaching WUProp at https... BAM had successfully detached and reattached Collatz at the same time. |
